Why All Democrats Should Rally Around Barack Obama

As we've all seen, the fight for the 2008 Democratic nomination has gotten out of control. It's funny how it really got out of control when Hillary Clinton started to lose. She seems like a ruthless competitor. Is this what we want? I'm not sure she's in it for this country. I think she's a power-hungry (insert word). As someone from New York state, I can tell you she is not what she'd like us to think. She promised thousands of jobs for us in upstate New York and I have yet to see it. If the woman lies to her state and doesn't do what she says she will, why should we believe she'll do anything for our country? So, what are our options? John McCain is just a George W. Bush clone so we know our economy will not improve with him. So I offer reasons why Barack Obama should be our choice.

First of all, let's start with the blue states. These are the states the Democrats have won the last 2 elections. Yes Hillary defeated Obama in most of them, including the big ones, California and New York. Let's face it though: These states are going to the Democratic nominee. Her victories here are meaningless.

Let's move to the red states. Republican territory. Yes the Democrats most likely will still lose these, but Barack Obama has slaughtered her in these states. If she gets killed by a fellow Democrat here, how can she compete with a Republican?

Now on to Texas and Ohio. Hillary won the popular vote in Texas but Obama won the caucuses. In the delegate count, it's a draw. Ohio, that all important state. This state has been crucial in the past 2 elections. Here we go again though. She beat Obama but will she beat McCain? We don't know. Does this loss mean Obama can't beat McCain? We don't know that either.

Let's not forget this too. This country is in need of some serious changes. Hillary Clinton represents the administration before George Bush. She includes this in her "35 years of experience". Okay....so what about NAFTA? What about "don't ask don't tell"? What about the World Trade Center bombing of 1993? Maybe something should've been done about Osama bin Laden by THAT administration. As much as I hate to say this, the Clintons are partially responsible for the mistakes of George Bush now. Do we want this...again???

The fact is it doesn't look like Hillary Clinton can beat Barack Obama in the delegate count. It should be about the numbers and hopefully it will be. Whoever is leading in the delegate count should get the support of the superdelegates. I hope they are listening. So to all Democrats, listen up. It's time to rally around Barack Obama and support him for the Democratic nomination.
