Why Are We to Accept Jesus Before God?

Why Are We to Accept Jesus Before God?

First of all, this is not meant as a “Christian bashing”, this is questioning. A mind that seeks to understand how a faith can be contradictory yet be held as truth. To start off the questions, what part of the truth is to be held as truth when there is contradiction? After all, the Bible is “The Word of God”, yet God’s words contradict… I have heard that we cannot pick and choose to satisfy ourselves, but in the case of contradiction, one must choose, one cannot act on two separate paths at the same time. When the road forks to the right and left, one must choose, there is no middle of the road, the middle leads to a ledge that then drops into a canyon of rock and rubble.

Many of the Christian Faith preach that to get to Heaven, to be judged “good enough” to go to Heaven, we must accept Jesus into our lives, but what if we don’t accept Jesus, but we do accept God? Are we not “good enough”?

Why is the man Jesus to be honored and the Creator God to be feared? Why is the physical form to be accepted as a path to the Spirit form? Questions and more questions pop into my head. Hurdles to be jumped and hoops to go through “Trust in the Lord,” is that the Lord Jesus or the Lord God? They are supposed to be one and the same, however one is taught to separate by name. Why?

In EXODUS 20:3 "You shall have no other gods before me." however, by using the name Jesus and asking of Jesus, are we not putting Jesus before God? I know, Jesus is God in human form, but I am also God in human form, Genesis 1:27 “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” Just as Jesus was created in the image of God in human form, so am I. Another thing, if Jesus is God in his human form, why did Jesus speak with God, unless they are separate entities. In which case, Jesus is NOT God in human form or does God have a personality disorder? Using the tales of Jesus being God in human form could mean that God used trickery and manipulation to “spread the word” or did man, by declaring in Bible verses that Jesus is the Son of God? Does it really matter if we believe in Jesus as the Son of God? Is it not the truth that God is All Encompassing, therefore to believe in God is the bonding of human and Spirit. Where does Jesus come in as a must to be accepted by God? And why is God separated into three? Father, Son, Holy Ghost, when there is separation, there is chaos, confusion, and disorder. Is God separated to cause this for some reason? Does this separation take place to cause discourse among man, expressed in argument and war? Why?

Are we not all God’s children? If so, I put my brother above myself and I put my brother before God, because He is the favorite son? Hmmm… sounds like God plays favorites.

These are just a few of the questions I woke with this morning, some days my questioning of the word “God” and the meaning behind it, do cause such chaos within.

my perspective

As a follower of Christ, I was shunned by my congregation due to doctrinal beliefs. In my opinion, followers of others forms of God are not immediatly banned to hell. Not only followers of Buddah, Mahaomed, and countless other followers of Spiritual Leaders, following differant creeds of spiritual cultivation, but Baptists, Methodists, and Catholics were doomed to eternal fire and brimstone according to the doctrine propagated by a Church my Family and I had attended for years. Judege not lest ye be judged. How better can it be put? It is not up to me or anyone else to judge anyone else. I believe in a God of Love who will welcome my Baptist Great Grandparents, Islamic Friends, Methodist friends, and good people of all faiths into the fold of eternity. Spiritual Journey

Thank you Mrs. Wdzzz for your comment. I believe questions, even when they can not be answered as absolute, does bring us closer to our own spirit and source. MJ - Sending happy thoughts and Smiles! Avatar: Betrayal and Retribution http://www.valkyrieart.com/Poser1.html

"...impossible to fully perceive..."

I totally agree with the impossibility of full perception, but I disagree on the only access to God is through acceptance of Christ. Call me a rebel on that point, but if Christ IS God than why must one accept Christ to access God? They are one and the same. Separation by name and putting up a roadblock just does not make sense. It is a mind maze to me. Thanks for the comment, I do enjoy reading others' views MJ - Sending happy thoughts and Smiles! Avatar: Betrayal and Retribution http://www.valkyrieart.com/Poser1.html

The Big 3

Hmmm, Interesting topic and perception. I personally believe it is impossible to fully perceive enough about God to fully conceive of Him. His ways are not our ways. As for Christ the key element of the Christian faith is the belief of his crucifixion, and resurrection. It is the faith in Him being the propitiation for our (christian believers) sins that allows us access to heaven. We can never be good enough to get into heaven. When a person becomes a Christian they don't stop being a sinner, or falling short of God's perfection. The significant difference is their willingness to pursue further knowledge and teachings of God and to accept His gift of forgiveness via grace. It is a simple concept, but a nearly impossible pursuit. For no matter what I or any Christian does with their lives, we are no closer or farther from God. It is only our acceptance of Christ that allows us access to God the father, and eventually heaven. The issue gets clouded by all kinds of over analysis. Sometimes the bible is literal, and other times it is not. All I can suggest is don't stop trying to comprehend it. Religion: Literal vs Emotional

I think that about sums it up. The literal are the harsh, "by the Book" sort and the emotional tend to be able to understand and accept others' faults without judgement. I tend to connect with something on an emotional level and then back it up by placing it into a situation from myself or from observations of society. I think that is why I have trouble with Religion (Formal Religions) because I can't really connect everything taught into a situations in reality. Hmmm... I think I will have to think on that one. It is kind of an "A-Ha, so that's why I do and feel the way I do." statement. : ) MJ - Sending happy thoughts and Smiles! Avatar: Betrayal and Retribution http://www.valkyrieart.com/Poser1.html

It's only hazardous to agree

It's only hazardous to agree with me when the ignorant rabble choose to ignore the truth in what I write. The religious aspect of life is quite unique. People will believe almost anything as long as it makes them comfortable or happy. In general, we need to feel like we have some sort of purpose in life - something bigger than just being. Many religions provide that answer, but only if you can set aside reason and the senses you use in every other aspect of life to determine what is true or false. Religion asks nothing of you except to have faith, which requires no evidence acquired from your senses. In essence, it asks you to surrender your mind to your emotions. When you live your life through emotion and believe that "someone" is out there looking after you and guiding you through life, it not only gives some people a sense of purpose and of calmness, but it also gives them an excuse for failure ("It must be God's plan") and a lesser fear of death - which is the most fearful event in our lives. Without the belief that there is more to life than life itself, most people would probably reject their very existence. Admitting that life may simply be an unexplainable phenomenon and that there may not be a "purpose" for our existence would drive most of the human population insane (we are a vain bunch). Most religions fill that void and ease the primitive mind. Now, granted, there are some religions that recognize societal progressions such as classical liberalism and they can be quite useful. Unfortunately, too many people fail to see the teachings as symbolic and instead choose to take the written word literally. Followers of the Abrahamic religions are notorious for that. Symbolism just doesn't register for them. Questioning religious teachings is natural and expected. In fact, it sets up a great opportunity to explain what those teachings mean and how they can be applied in life - which is the real purpose and usefulness of religion. The problem is, you need to have a teacher, pastor, minister, or whomever that knows what they're talking about, understands the symbolic aspect of it, and can explain it in relevant and modern terms. That's rare. And it's why we see so many intolerant people adhering to religious teachings that were supposed to preach the most tolerance in human history. Anyway...I'll let you digest that for now. Maybe there will be more to come later. Who is Publius? What is Rational Liberty? How do I join Xomba and get PAID to write?

Religions

I agree with your answer Publius. (ssshhh, agreeing with you can be hazardous): ) It is just that sometimes I get overtaken with thoughts of "why" and how we are to believe in a book or writings. It is perplexing at times and I want to understand. It is just one of those things I guess, either you do or you don't, but that doesn't stop the questions. MJ - Sending happy thoughts and Smiles! This is an easy one,

This is an easy one, MJ. Answer to all of your questions: Because all religions practiced by man are man-made. No exceptions. Who is Publius? What is Rational Liberty? How do I join Xomba and get PAID to write?
