Lotion was not made for women, but to help with dry skin. Both sexes get dry skin. Shouldn't guys be able to use lotion without getting ridiculed?

When I was in college, my friends constantly made fun of me because I liked to use lotion on my hands. nbsp; I never understood why they made fun of me.  They thought that a guy using lotion was feminine and you could imagine some of the things they called me.  Well I am proud of the fact that I use lotion and I will tell you why.

First off, I was not blessed with perfect skin.  I have dry skin, and it is especially dry in the winter.  When my hands start to get dry, it gets so bad that my skin starts to crack around the knuckles.  Although I would not describe the pain as pure agony, this is very uncomfortable to endure.  Using lotion keeps my hands healthy.  Also, cracked skin can allow germs to enter into your body and I do not think there is anyone out there that likes germs. 

Also, the skin around my elbows and knees, sometimes gets a little ashy.  This does not cause any pain, but is a little unsightly.  For this reason, I put lotion on my knees and elbows when they get especially dry.  I wear shorts and short sleeved shirts quite often, so the appearance of my skin is important to me.
