Why Did Sarah Palin Fire Irl Stambaugh?
posted September 14, 2008 - 5:16pmIn this article by Michael Isikoff and Mark Hosenball which can be found on Newsweek.com and in their issue dated 22 September 2008, the authors go back 11 years, well before Governor Palin fired her state's "top cop." They venture back to when she first became Mayor of Wasila and wasted no time in firing, then Chief of Police, Irl Stambaugh. There is speculation that her decision was due, at least in part, to appease some of her major backers and contributors (bar owners and gun enthusiasts) who Stambaugh had gone up against in the commission of his duties.
It seems that Sarah Palin took the nickname she earned in High School (Sarah Barracuda) to heart and lives by it.
