Why do fossil birds matter for geology

I recently posted a new Hub on fossil birds! The point I wanted to make is for people to know is that bird fossils have a place outside of the interest of paleontology and the evolution of birds. They are also important for geology as well. I give three reasons why they are important.

  1. Rocks composed of aviain remains are economically important for fertilizer.
  2. Fossil bird communities can be used as environmental indicators.
  3. Fossil birds can be a valuable collection item.

Thanks!
