Why do fossil birds matter for geology
posted October 11, 2009 - 11:58amI recently posted a new Hub on fossil birds! The point I wanted to make is for people to know is that bird fossils have a place outside of the interest of paleontology and the evolution of birds. They are also important for geology as well. I give three reasons why they are important.
- Rocks composed of aviain remains are economically important for fertilizer.
- Fossil bird communities can be used as environmental indicators.
- Fossil birds can be a valuable collection item.
Thanks!
