A little bit history about Geo Prizm. From 1993 to 1997 Geo Prizm models have similar basic design with the Toyota Corolla. The body has increased a bit longer with that aerodynamic redesigned front-drive subcompact sedan from the Chevy's import group.

Geo Expansion was extended for the interior and sedan's trunk. New United Motor Manufacturing Incorporated (NUMMI) is the manufacturer of the Geo Prizm. It's the joint venture of General Motors and Toyota in Fremont, California. Geo also is the mechanical twin of Toyota Corolla.

However Toyota-badged version sells better than GM's.

There are some reasons that the Toyota Corolla sells better than GM’Geo Prizm most probably due to:

1)Toyota has more customer brand equity than GM. Customer brand equity focuses on the individual customer's willingness to pay a price more than some benchmark for the branded product.

2)Toyota provides more organizational brand equity than GM. Total organizational brand equity is concerned with the number of customers willing to pay that price.

3)Toyota has a very good reputation than GM, thus enjoy lower costs and can charge higher prices, experience greater growth in sale/status, experience greater returns relative to actual quality.

4)The consumers’ perception on the intrinsic brand value of Toyota which has been ascribed to their particular production systems (Lean Production or Toyota Production System), their skillful workers and their management techniques although for both Toyota and GM are manufactured from the same production line in this case.

5)The consumers perceive Toyota as the highest quality products (low fuel consumption, low maintenance etc) and superior service although actual quality and service for both Toyota and GM is identical in this case.
