Will Jones fight for Garrett?
Jerry Jones will have to fight for Jason Garrett if he wants Garrett to stay as an assistant coach for the Cowboys. Garrett has interviewed for the head coach position for the Ravens, replacing Brian Billick. Through ESPN.com, Jones said that he would match any offer to keep Garrett. Jones wants Garrett because he saw how Garrett turned Tomy Roma into one of the best quarterbacks in the league and because he sees Garrett as a future head coach.
Jones will also be competing with the Atlantic Falcons. It is presumed that Garrett is headed for his second interview with the Falcons.
Garrett has the experience to take on the head coach position for the Ravens. He played college football for Princeton, played as a quarterback back up for Dallas, Tampa Bay, and Miami. He also played in the World League and in the CFL. Garrett has been an NFL assistant for 3 seasons. He started with the Miami Dolphins and was hired in 2007 by the Cowboys. Garrett's unit for the Cowboys ranked 3rd in the league.
"What to do to keep him? I'd work hard, but there are some things I can't control." Jerry Jones
