Will You Make It into Heaven?

Will You Make It into Heaven?

Do you know the way to Heaven? Many say that there is no way to know if you will make it in. Still others claim that everyone will go. The Bible says we can know our eternal destiny, but that no one can get to Heaven alone:

"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,"-Romans 3: 23

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."-Romans 6: 23

Because of these two facts, no one deserves to go to Heaven, but the Word of God says there is still hope for the lost sinner, but there is only one way in. We must trust in Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior:

"Thomas said to Him 'Lord we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way.' Jesus said to Him, 'I AM the way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."-John 14: 5-6

Every sinner owes a sin debt to God, which must be paid in order for us to be counter worthy to enter in. Jesus, the only begotten Son of God, came into the world so that He could take our place and pay our sin debt, by dying on a cross. This is His personal gift to us, allowing us to have a personal relationship with Him, and through Him, the Father, if we will believe:

"For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth, for there is one God, and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time"-I Timothy 2: 3-6

Many people claim there are other ways to Heaven beside Jesus' sacrifice, such as good works, correct prayers, etc. The Holy Bible says that we can only share in this promise by trusting in Him and calling upon His name:

"Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under Heaven, given among men, by which we must be saved."-Acts 4: 12

Sadly, most churches today fail to teach one of the most important aspects of God's plan of salvation: Repentance. This word, which seems to be nearly forgotten in our modern society, literally means to have a "change of mind/heart" and to "turn away" from one's past actions. So the true fruit of repentance is a change in one's life!

"And they went out and proclaimed the men should repent."-Mark 6: 12

"But to those first in Damascus, and Jerusalem, and to all the country of Judea, and to the nations, I made known the command to repent and to turn to God, doing works worthy of repentance."-Acts 26: 20

In order to repent, however, one must first realize that s/he is a sinner bound for the fires of a very literal Hell. Unfortunately, most churches today have placed the teaching of what sin really is on the back burner. Many professing "Christians" can no longer list even the most basic portion of God's holy Law - the Ten Commandments. Can you? Have you kept them?

"You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor."Exodus 20: 16

Sadly, Many individuals approach the subject of their salvation with a lukewarm heart. They may come forward at an altar call, or respond to a missionary's message by simply kneeling down and repeating a "sinners' prayer" as they are instructed. They Holy Bible says that we must "receive" Him as our Lord and Savior, which means submitting to His will in every aspect of our lives:

"but as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become the children of God, to those who believe on His name."-John 1: 12

If you realize that you are a sinner and desire to be saved, you can be. Simply pray this prayer, or one like it, with all the fullness of your heart:

"Dear, sweet Lord Jesus, I realize that I am a fallen, sinful person and could never reach Heaven without Your sacrifice on the cross. I am giving my whole life to You today, to live for You in this world and to live with You in the world to come. I accept the free gift of salvation which You gave so readily and I thank You for sealing my soul for salvation."
