The parade of upsets continued in the women's draw at Wimbledon on Monday, but Venus and Serena Williams continued to avoid the trend with straight-set wins.

The highest seed to fall was Serbian superstar Jelena Jankovic, the number-two player in the world. Jankovic had a shaky three-set win over Denmark's Caroline Wozniacki in the third round, and in today's fourth-round match she got bounced in straight sets by Tamarine Tanasugarn of Thailand, 6-3, 6-2. This is the best showing ever in 12 Wimbledon appearances by Tanasugarn, the 31-year-old veteran who is ranked 60th in the world.

Venus Williams defeated Alisa Kleybanova of Russia 6-3, 6-4, while her younger sister Serena topped fellow American Bethanie Mattek 6-3, 6-3.

In other Monday upsets, aside from Jankovic's departure, 18th seed Nicole Vaidisova defeated Anna Chakvetadze in three sets, and Jie Zheng of China beat Agnes Szavay of Hungary.

UPDATE: And one more upset... Number four seed Svetlana Kuznetsova of Russia lost to Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland in three sets. This means that the top four seeds are all out of the tournament before the semifinals.
