Winter Weather effecting education

In many parts of North America this winter has blasted hard. All over Canada and Northern USA weather has been causing highway closers, canceled schools and school buses, even at time city buses taxies. Old man winter sure has come hard this year. Having young hildren at home as I do, I can easily tell you the children are missing far too many days because of snow. My kids so far have missed fourteen days since December first, plus they've still had christmas vacation and P.A days. I know it's not the schools fault but I wonder if the school boards are going to extend the school year to make up for the missed days.I think the school year already has too many holidays and breaks. The weather will always be a problem so shouldn't the schools accomidate so the children don't miss out on the important information they learn a school. Already there will be a new holiday in Canada this monday called Family day and in a few short weeks it will be march break and then spring break for the USA, I mean how many breaks to the kids need. It not only affects the children but the parents as well who have to take time of from work for these days. I think it's time to make a change for our children, education is important. Wht do you think?
