Wisconsin Car Insurance Rates May Skyrocket
posted February 22, 2009 - 6:45amWisconsin Governor Jim Doyle is proposing an increase in state requirements for minimum car insurance coverage which would result in an increase in car insurance rates for drivers across the state.
This new requirement would increase car insurance rates for drivers considerably and the state Insurance Alliance fears this would cause thousands of drivers to drop their coverage because they wouldn’t be able to afford it any longer.
It is estimated that auto insurance rates may go up by 30-40% if the law is passed. Surely it is up to the insurance companies and drivers to make sure the policies are adequate. If it was about raising maximum coverage because it was not adequate that may seem sensible, but the minimum?
