Nobody wishes any child to be ill, ever, and my heart goes out to anyone struggling with the reality of a sick child.

I write about this due to the fact that an acquaintance of mine who is a pediatric nurse, recently mentioned that toy donations to our local children's hospital (Doernbecher's) have slowed down in recent months.

If you google "toy wish lists for children's hospitals", you will get pages and pages of results for hospitals around the country needing toys which gives almost everyone an opportunity to participate on a local level.

She tells me that the children are pleasantly distracted with a new toy and can feel comforted by a new stuffed animal or be kept busy with games.

The donations do not have to be fancy in nature, just new and wrapped in original packaging.

Anyway, I promised her I would post this in case someone was looking for a charitable cause but hadn't thought about toy donations.
