With Each Breath

With Each Breath

I dreamed that I called you,

and you answered the phone;

and

talked to me;

If only

I could remember all that you said to me,

I would hang onto every word,

every sound

in your voice.

It felt SO real!

When I woke ;

I called you,

but you didn't answer,

and the painful reality returned,

like an icy , unforgiving,

wind,

and now, I am here alone,

only longing for you

with each breath~

I understand that, and don't, too

I like what I call projective verse, and yours is a good example, a nice tight little vignette of expression. Like a diminishing, vanishing, vanished dream upon awaking. Sometime only a little touch of emotion remains; but other times it lasts weeks. You write, well.

Why?

Why is it, that 18 people can read this, and I only get 1 vote? My writing is not that bad...and for that matter voting is as simple as 1 click. But, ..the recipes and lists, and website promo's get votes... hmmm. Some days, creative input is lacking, but oh well i guess.~~~
