Woman Dead 42 Years Found in Apartment

Police in Croatia say that the woman found dead in her apartment has likely been so since 1966, which is that last time anyone remembers having seen her. Neighbors broke into the apartment, intending to claim it for themselves since nobody had been seen coming or going for years. What they found was mummified remains of Hedviga Golik, who was born in 1924, sitting in front of the black and white television. Apparently the woman had told neighbors that she was going on a trip to visit her sister before she died, so they assumed that she was simply taking an extended vacation. What's harder to explain is why it took 42 years for anyone to get curious enough to check.
