A Tokyo man installed video cameras in his house recently, after food kept mysteriously disappearing. While monitoring the video using his cell phone the man saw someone moving around his dwelling and called police. But when police arrived, to their surprise, they found the house locked. Unable to find evidence of burglary they decided to search the house, and eventually located a 58 year-old woman curled in a fetal position on a shelf in the man's closet.

Eventually the woman's strange story emerged. Homeless, the woman entered the house one day while the man was away and she just stayed. For over a year. She had moved a small mattress into the closet and showered and ate while the man was out.
