Writer's Strike-No End Is Near

Writer's Strike-No End Is Near

With the writer's strike, no end to it anytime soon, the veiwing choices on television seem to have become alot smaller. However all is not lost. There has to be something you have not seen, you might want to watch.

There are always choices, it is just up to you to find those choices. It seems when we have all the choices available to us we complain there is nothing on. And when there is really nothing on we complain even more.

Right now we are flooded with reruns. Which can be a good thing. If you missed all your favorite shows, this is now a great opportunity to catch up. At least we have late night, but what about that time between 8-11pm?

Try watching channels you never watched before. Of course this only applies if you have cable or satillite. There is plenty on if you search hard enough. Channels like Bravo, Oygen, Lifetime, and Nickelodeon all have some great entertainment.

Of course there is always the ever popular DVD sets availble for purchase of all the shows you love. If you have the money that is. There is On-Demand if you have cable, they offer 100's of free movies and TV shows.

I worry though that this strike will leave viewers in a state of numbness when their favorites return. Missing does not make the heart grow fonder. Or does it?

I just about forgot what I even liked about my favorite shows, not to mention what they even were. Heroes I completely lost interest, it had been gone for so long. Was glad to see Prison Break back, and Lost will return, I would like to get excited, but I am not.

So will we pick up where we left off or will the shows return and be ignored and eventually get cancelled because we found something better, or nobody cares anymore?

Catching up on stuff

I do miss my shows, there weren't that many that I kept up on, but i did watch a few. I do hope the strike is coming to an end. That would be great.

Writers strike

You make a good point... the strike is a good time for people to catch up on all the stuff they've recorded but never had time to watch, or to check out channels they don't usually watch. There's so much programming coming out it's impossible to keep up with it all. Of course, people can also rent movies, or [gasp!] do something besides watch TV! I'm thinking the writers' strike might be nearing an end, actually: the writers have a deal with Lions Gate, and the directors signed a deal, so it seems there's some progress.
