WRITING FOR A CITY FILM PERMIT
posted August 25, 2009 - 10:38amGreetings Mr. Keblas,
Allow me to introduce a Verona Independent Production script "BLOCK" which fits in quite well with the environment here in Seattle for an independent short. As the writer, the combination of sweeping landscapes and inner city lifestyle allowed for Seattle to be a significant backdrop in this reimagining of Hemingway's "For Whom the Bells Toll."
Without giving to many details away, our film consists of three brothers with individual motivations and become afflicted by each others choices. Much of the screen was to be portrayed at night, yet we found hour regulations along with the possibility of filming at Sand Point.
As most independent films, our budget may be very low but the script has not suffered in fact we have adjusted creatively in the shooting script. Yet, we feel with your beautiful city's cooperation to accompany the solid script and innovative cast and crew, we can produce a great piece of art.
I shall contact your office directly if I have questions about the regulations, availibilty, city permits, facilities and film commission supervision that are not in the manual.
Sincerely,
Charlie Verona, Producer
