Writing is like a crossword puzzle
Writing is like a crossword puzzle
Writing isn’t that hard. Just don’t wait ‘til you have a whole idea. Instead, write down what you have in your head and work from there. It’s like doing a crossword puzzle or sudoku; start with the clues that really stand out to you. The easy ones. Once you have these down, you can use the letters from them to help you fill out the harder clues. Keep going like this.
Even if it’s just a few paragraphs, - as long as you have these you can put them in order. This makes it easier to fill out the gaps in your story/idea. So don’t give in to procrastination, waiting until you have a whole story sorted in your head - I think it’s more difficult that way; like trying to sort all the clues in a crossword puzzle at the same time.

Thanks for the tip.
That is a great way to look at it!

i agree xhellcatx
and most writers know to get the ideas on paper before they can't remember what the main idea was. I do stream of consciousness work but I love outlines, too. I think you're right that it's always good just to begin and not give in to procrastination or writer's block!

You should just write whatever comes into your head. That will definitely get you going even if you don't know where you're going.
