Writing Poetry
posted September 7, 2008 - 7:52amIt's always been something I would like to be able to do but have never quite been capable of. So see I think poetry is a very personal and private thing you have to express yourself in the words you write and in doing so leave yourself vulnerable.
Why vulnerable? Well your writing your feels down on the page for others to read and because and with that theres always a chance they will say that no good that it's a load of rubbish. And when it comes from the heart that can be damage to ego. Plus sometimes when writing love poetry I get a little embarrassed which again is due to a fear of rejection.
But heres an example of a poem I wrote which I have had on my myspace blog for sometime so if it looks similar to someone else's work I apologise but it is completely coincidental. I wrote it for my girlfriend on Monday, July 30, 2007.
I desire that first meet that moment that has been so long in the making.
I desire that first grasp of your arms around me and my arms equally embracing your love.
I desire to walk along the shores with you the clasp of hands while looking into the distance gazing at the crimson sky the beauty in nature who's only competition is the beauty of your own sweet nature
I desire to walk once more with arms draped around each other alone in the dark night with only the moon to light our way, the moon that dominates the sky whilst your love dominates my soul.
I desire to feel your embrace, to feel your every breath, to feel your loving heart beat against my chest.
I desire to hear your sweet voice utter my name not just to say hello but to say all the words that is in your heart to say.
I desire to look into your eyes as you gaze into my soul, those loving eyes that say a thousand words just in a single glance.
I desire all these things why because I love you my precious…
