X Factor 2009 Live Results - 1st November: What the Hell's Going On?

the-x-factor.jpgI've got to say, I was quite saddened by yesterday's X Factor results. Let me rephrase that: I was saddened that Rachel Adedeji was in the bottom two for the third time running. I wasn't too surprised to see Lloyd there. He has a good voice, but his performance yesterday wasn't much to write home about and I find his performances lacklustre in general.

Miss Rachel Adedeji can sing and I totally disagree with some of the X Factor judges suggesting she's not connecting with the audience. Just because they suggest it doesn't mean it's true. But, I suspect that because they've said it, it might have become a self-fulfilling prophesy. The public might have started seeing things with her that just weren't there. That girl sang her heart out last night and was really good. I thought she was gonna sail through.

It's not the twins' (John & Edward) fault they got through so I still don't understand why they get booed. Yes, they're in the wrong competition, but we have to remember that it's the public that are voting for them.

Saying that, Simon Cowell needs to shut the hell up about his dislike of the twins 'cos the more he goes on about how talentless he thinks they are, the more the public will vote for them.

I voted for Danyl. I felt he deserved a second chance. I had a feeling he'd go through after he sang out of tune. It showed he wasn't perfect. Showed vulnerability. It didn't occur to me Rachel wouldn't go through which is why I didn't vote for her.

There was a part of me, though, that felt that if she got through for the third time, she'd have a breakdown of some sort. How many times can one person breathe through that? Let's not forget these are babies. Rachel's only 18 and Lloyd's 16.

I wish her all the best. She has talent. The X Factor isn't the be all and end all. There was music before X Factor and they'll be music way after it's disappeared into the night.
