And I’m beginning to resent those who introduced me to you.

I’m taking an on-line class and have homework to do. I sit here at the computer and I SHOULD be writing an essay. Instead I am lost in YOU!

I sat down in front of the screen and thought, “I’ll just pop on for a moment and post the byte I wrote up, then I’ll get to work.” So I post the byte – then take a moment to see if any of my buddies are on line. . . . and what have they posted recently . . . . . which articles are highest rated this week . . . . look! my byte already has a comment, gotta respond to that . . . . . and an hour later I’m still here – browsing, looking, reading, commenting.

So I minimize the window to get it out of my way. NOW I can work. I get things organized, got all my notes handy, book right next to the computer, research is prepped and ready to use . . . . . . . I wonder how many reads my new byte has now. . . . . . and I’m sucked back in for another 30-45 minutes!

But I gotta get this essay done! It was due yesterday; I can’t be more than a day late. I have all this time available right now – I GOTTA get it done! So I’ll log out. There, now you’re gone! So I get the title page and abstract done. Start work on the opening paragraph . . . . having trouble focusing . . . . revise the title, rework the opening . . . . . . and all the while I can’t get you off of my mind. Like the siren to the sailor you keep calling me.

I don’t have the time for you . . . . . I can’t get enough of you


I love you! . . . . . . . . I hate you!


Get out of my life! . . . . . . . Don’t leave me!!!!!!


Am I the only one?


Maybe now that I have gotten that off of my chest, I can get this essay out of the way.
