Xomba Who is Who

Xomba Who is Who

After reading WhatUp’s estimation of Xomba writers – I had to come up with this. This feature has been niggling at me for some time – but as usual I have been lazy putting pen to paper or doing too much hard work online;-)

If you see an article that is sure to capture your attention with the right dose of subtle humor, dual meanings (lately), including everyone, great command over language, all in all an excellent enjoyable read – it is bound to be Taprial.

Jdubhub – Always egging us on to find the good in us. Making us look beyond us, our capabilities. And if you are looking for tips in writing – jdubhub will provide it. A lot of knowledge and uses it to perfection. Almost the “Wise Man of Xomba”. Its “almost” only because of the period he forgot himself and entered into a personal duel with another member. But he has got up, dusted himself, and moved on!

Rawnak – She is feisty. She has that perfect timing and unique feel for news and that has made her land some great first page posts. She has her finger on the nerve of the vox populi at all times. A crusader to boot. Definitely someone to look upto and admire. If one is in a mess anywhere, one really would like Rawnak to be there to fight …and win. And she must have “discovered” many articles here by being the first to comment!

Mia – Humor and Balance. That’s what comes through in her writing. Great imagination. She make make up stories from nowhere. If she loses her cycle, or has that extra cup of coffee or just surfs the Net in Library or teaches her daughter driving – there is a story in there!

WhatUp – His writing scared me, though I am used to it now. Never know what would come next from him. Always ready to explore new themes, concepts. I think he is trying to be likeable  now!

Publius – He has definitely become a softie with time (age?). And even has a bunny for a profile to prove it! Check out this comment from him to see how much of a softie he has become -“I still have to play my role as the "bad guy." Some "arrogant right-winger" has to be hated here, otherwise there'd be no point for the "lefties" to exist.” The old Publius would never go so far as to admit it! I like his signatures – which says “Who Is Publius?” or “my” with italics. I happen to be a (secret) admirer of his posts esp. because of their depth – and more because I am the exact opposite; I tend to touch the froth of most topics while he delves right into the deep sea!

XHellCat – Young, talented, firebrand (the name has more to do with this image I think). She should come up with more posts. She really is knowledgeable (with Homer and Illiad listed as her bedtime reading!) I enjoy her racy posts and comments.

MJDakota – Impetuous, always positive is my impression of her. She is ready to challenge all the time. A great favorite of mine.
Wdzzzs – Sincere, earnest, hard working with a lot of belief. He is not afraid to share his beliefs. Has a terrific voice Always positive and has a comment and encouragement for everyone. His smiling profile tells the story!

Kjhack – Non – controversial and moderate in his writings and comments. But has a nice way to tell a story.

AAT2 – Volatile – I feel he is ready to erupt anytime! Not afraid to comment on his own writing  Terrific writer – he should be editing some mainline magazine somewhere! On a scale of writers if he is at 10, I am at 1! I am just happy there is a platform – where stuff from such talented people gets published with mine!

Grimess – His writing is picturesque. Reading about his everyday life is like watching a soap opera (a better version). You are transported to his World of farms, smells, conflicts, drama, emotions, even criminals. Real variety to spice up the “Royal Reading” list!

Idlewild – He really helped me (Xomba too, I guess) take off on those initial days. Noticing posts, pointing out mistakes, always commenting, nudging others on. If it’s a well thought out article on the latest news in politics or sports, you know its from Idle. He really keeps the community up-to-date with well thought out resources on current affairs. A great writer – but I think he should explore the depths more.

Xomba Who Is Who cannot be complete without mentioning DeDom or Champagne. They have gone – where no man/woman has gone before – and that says it all!

I feel I am missing out on many who provide the spice and flavor to the site. Nick and Jeremy, you don’t feature here – because frankly you don’t write too much;-) The Xomba blogs don’t count even if they become top-rated in no time.

I am sure all the people mentioned here have many other sides to them. These are just my impressions from their writings and comments. And of course no offense meant to anyone!

I hope GLADD doesn't try

I hope GLADD doesn't try anything stupid... I'm also an enthusiast of my 2nd Amendment rights. Yeah, you're probably right about me arguing both sides of any argument. But it would only be to show how it's properly done. I'd never purposely take the wrong position just to stoke feelings and create controversy - no matter what other people believe about me. Who is Publius? What is Rational Liberty? How do I join Xomba and get PAID to write?

Just checked and I'm still ALL WOMAN...

Just checked and I'm still ALL WOMAN... Now, I'm aware that this might illicit remarks from a certain type of inadequate man - nobody on your list of course - about my sexuality - after all, I did protest at Greenham Common about American WMD (Cruise Missiles) - so let me "head them off at the pass" (to employ the cowboy lingo I'm sure their type understand) - I prefer men and one man in particular. It perplexes me that intelligence (in my case coupled with an exceptionally privileged higher education not usually afforded my class) should automatically equate with maleness but hey there are worse things in this world - bullies, frauds and people who take pleasure in others misfortune, pain, circumstances, deaths and executions - just for starters. At the same time I'm humbled by your remark about me. I think you've mistaken my passion to stand up for those less fortunate than myself for volatility but again hey (?) and ditto bullies etcetera. Thank you for the compliment/s, very encouraging. Pen-ultimately, I must point out that you definitely underestimate your talents - but, that said, it is very refreshing to see modesty. Lastly, I'm off now to protest outside the Iranian Embassy in London to show solidarity with the majority of people in Iran - just a Xombyte to post about a similar protest in Birmingham from 6pm outside the Town Hall before I go. Anyone reading this and wanting to attend either PEACEFUL PROTEST (from 6pm) is asked to wear black as the brave protesters in Tehran will be - but showing up is more important. Impetuous, me?

Thanks mamamia, I do try to be positive, but shoot, there are those days. ;) And I will be the first to admit, I am lead by my emotions. "May the Spirit protect those around me when I hit menopause!" For the last 5 years, this has been my "Tell us something about you" quote... "I am stubborn, but kind, opinionated, but willing to listen, selfish, but very giving. I am a controversy." You mamamia, are very astute in your character analysis. MJ - Sending happy thoughts and Smiles! Avatar: Betrayal and Retribution http://www.valkyrieart.com/Poser1.html

Oh,sure, just a harmless little bunny!

After it has sailed through the air with hideous fangs drawn devouring the poor knight that stepped too close! I personally see you as a classic debater - someone who can argue either side of point with the same dexterity even though you have a view that you prefer. To the day (not that it has been that long ago) I love your article on Rational Liberty about what it means to be a natural born citizen. Any one reading that article that does not come away thinking "you know what, he may be right" is a doofus. Your arguement is so well laid out that it is impossible not to think that way. You're not a racist homophobe? Damn now I have to apologize to GLADD for giving them your name. :) Visit my homepage here

Just a quick point or

Just a quick point or two... I have certainly not become a "softie" in recent months (or years). I just haven't been around as much lately. I guess I'm holding off for the new design - if or when it happens. As far as my comment on wHATUP's Xombyte goes - The "role" I mentioned is not one that I have assumed myself. I "play" this role because that's what everyone presumes I'm doing. They label me as part of the right-wing fringe without defining what "right-wing" is. They pretend that I'm controversial because they'd rather not explore the validity of their own philosophies. They denounce me as "irrational" by suspending the fundamentals of logic. They try to make me a political outcast by redefining the standards of liberty and individuality. They have continually tried to lump me in with the "religious right," the "pro-life" movement, racists, homophobes, and nearly every other rhetorical label that politics has created. I called myself the "arrogant" "bad guy" because the people who constantly disagree with me apparently see me as such. I am confident that my perspective on humanity and government is right...and that those who welcome anything other than individual liberty, consent of the governed, and laissez faire capitalism are wrong. If that makes me an egotistical pariah, then so be it. I accept that fate. And the fact that the leftists - or statists - who oppose the previously mentioned principles have to mold me into the label they have prescribed tells me that I must be making some pretty convincing arguments. Either that, or they just simply cannot formulate any reasoned rebuttals. So, now that things have been cleared up, I need to get back to my next article which will be sure to stir up controversy and solidify my position as part of the "lunatic fringe." Because no matter how well-researched, well-written, or logical my arguments are, they will never be accepted by the ignorant and the unreasonable. And that's just the sad truth. And mamamia...I know you're more than just an "admirer." I think you agree with me more than you like to admit. Anyway - thanks for putting me on your list. You're much braver than most people. Who is Publius? What is Rational Liberty? How do I join Xomba and get PAID to write?

@Mamamia, when I first joined

Xomba, there were several writers who told me that I should emulate what you were doing and try to get on your buddylist!! Thanks for the kind words and support. I am feelin' the Xomba love which makes me want to do better! Peace, Mia NW

Argh, Xombies!

Y'know, I feel kinda humbled to be on this list. To be described as 'young, talented and a firebrand' *blush* Although I had to look up the meaning of 'firebrand (tisn't a word we use here often) - I came up with this; - Function: noun Date: 13th century 1 : a piece of burning wood 2 : one that creates unrest or strife (as in aggressively promoting a cause) : agitator Teehee, good thing I ain't easily offended :p You seem to have hit the nail on the head with your descriptions of the folks mentioned. This reminds me of the song 'One Big Mob' by the Chili Peppers.... ^_^
