Xomba Blog | Contest Update and Rule 17 Clarification
posted June 10, 2009 - 8:57amHello everyone,
I wanted to drop a quick blog to remind everyone about the current Xomba contest, What's Your Cure For The Summertime Blues?
We've only had a few entries so here is me nudging everyone to start thinking about their favorite summer pastime. For full details on the contest visit this link:

In other news, there has been a rash of post lately using affiliate links that have led me to clarify rule number 17. Here is the rule as found in the posting policy:
17. Content which involves spamming with commerical activities and/or sales of any products or services for you or anyone else, including but not limited to contests, sweepstakes, bartering, and/or advertising related to such goods or services. We allow the use of affiliate links such as Clickbank.com and Amazon.com. Articles containing affiliate links should still contain content that users will find valuable. Contact us if you have questions about using affiliate links.
The thing I want to clarify is that merely using a set line of text and only changing the name of the product being linked to is not acceptable content. If you are linking to an affiliate item the post must contain substantial unique text. If you can't write enough about it to have substantial unique text then you shouldn't be posting about it.
