Xomba Blog | Featured Writers and Quality Control
posted February 23, 2009 - 10:23amHey Everybody,
I hope all of you are having a good week.
We had a few problems last week, but we fixed everything and we are back to 100% again.
Two things we wanted to talk about today; featured writers and quality of your content here on Xomba. < p>
First, let's talk about our posting rules.
We've been cracking down to make sure Xomba's level of quality writing improves.
We've been concentrating on Xomblurbs. Some people unfortunately continue to plagiarize. So instead of us reiterating the same statement about how copying someone else's content is illegal we're simply going to permanently block you from the site. This includes people who are copying different sentences to make their own article.
Spam is also an issue we're dealing with, but usually only posted by new (fly by night users).
It is important for to do 3 things when posting a Xomblurb.
1. Make sure the title does not misrepresent what you are linking to.
2. Write (in your own words) a descriptive summary in fluent English about what you are linking to. You must be able to write English fluently to participate in Xomba.
3. Link to legal website that you described in your summary.
Thank you to all of you who vigorously flag material not deemed worthy of the standards set above.
Overall, the problem lies in new users and not our regular community. Remember, if you feel uneasy about what your about to post please contact us with your question.

We added some suggestions, but for the most part those are just ideas. We have some featured writers already covering a certain subject, but we're willing to work with you. Some categories overlap and we understand that as well. Activities is a generic category that could concentrate on one specific thing like Fishing. Even though fishing also falls under Great Outdoors. Like I said we'll work with you.
We will be opening these up to the rest of the world soon, so if you are thinking about it you need to make your decision now.
Have a great day,
Xomba Admin
