Xomba Blog | Frankie Says Relax

Hi Everyone,

Sometimes I feel like a broken record when I say that we have new articles on the front page, but today you really should check the new Xombytes out.

Man's Greatest Inventions

You Know You’re Pushing 40 When…

Best & Worst Moments Of The Beijing Olympics

Our contest, Xomba Is Green With Envy, is coming to a close Sunday night. Be sure to get your last minute entries in. Looks like we have quite a bit of reading to do next week.
Check out contests section for more details.

Jeremy informs me he is quite disappointed in the recent personal attacks and flames going in the comment section.

While we welcome you guys to critique and ridicule each others opinions we will not allow personal attacks. If you want to beat each other up then take it to email. It has gotten to the point that reading anything political or religious gives me a migraine. We encourage you to argue about MCcain Vs. Obama, but don't take it to a personal level.

Unfortunately, I am losing faith that we all can remain civil.

To learn that some of you feel we are being one-sided is absolutely preposterous and hurtful.

You need to realize that Jeremy and I spend most of our time chasing after the annoying Watch (popular TV show here) blurbs to have to babysit a few members.

We all get hot and angry over comments, but heed this last warning. Get it under control or do we need to be so childish to dish out 10 day suspensions?

An adult time out, if you will.

I surely, hope not.

To those of you who have been flagging more and more we whole-heartedly thank you!!!

Please keep it up.

Monday is a holiday here in the states, so new articles will be posted Tuesday morning.

We have banners coming. We're undergoing final edits on them now. You'll soon be able to post banners with your referral code all over the internet. I'm sure webmasters everywhere will be rejoicing!

Bring The Heat

I have no problem with heated debates just as long as their is a line upheld. Every citizen of the world deserves the right to a debate not moderated or dictated by where they live.

Blocking

I agree with you, Eggs. Like Nick says, if you don't like a particular writer, don't read his stuff. Even if you don't care for someone's stuff in general, you might encounter something from them you like. If you'd blocked that person, you'd never discover that.

We just popped into your

We just popped into your mind because I reckon we are the loudest. I would not feel better if you used Idlewild or Rawnak. They already have enough recognition. Besides they are nicer than I am and have more charisma. Eggsovresy

Not a problem, Nick

I was fine with your choices, since Eggs and I seem to have been at the center of lots of heated debates. I don't even have a problem with the heated debates as long as they are productive and the comments are meaningful. I believe we are all adults here and should be able to handle a little self-restraint when posting. I do agree that everything that a person sees, thinks, feels is subjective because those experiences are unique to that individual, which includes even math. :) DO YOU HAVE THE WRITE STUFF?

Thanks bronco. I apreciate

Thanks bronco. I apreciate that. I don't like the block idea. We are writers and to block without the option of ever seeing what another writes is counter productive for what we do. Take care bronco. hey I sent you a buddy request, are you going to accept it this time or what? You know you read my stuff even if you act like you don't. LOL Eggsovresy

Ok

The only thing objective in this world is math. And people can even make that a subjective argument. All I am saying is that everyone should 1. Allow opinions that are not outside the rules of Xomba. 2. Don't allow anger to be transformed into personal attacks. 3. Respect the fact other users have a right to their opinion, no matter what it is. (See Rule 1) P.S. Not singling anyone out, I just grabbed two names. Would you feel better if I said Rawnak and Idle? Seriously, you guys just popped in my mind.

We Love You Eggs

You and I have had our disagreements, we always will, but I consider you one of my friends on here. I love your passion...!!!

How About A Blocking Option

Many websites have these. You can block anyone you don't want to deal with. Maybe a bit drastic but...it works.

emotional subjects.

hey wait a minute. Why mention me and Jim? Are we the culprits that caused this post to be made only? Thanks for the recognition. The point is being made here that writers have their own opinion. I am eggsovresy and yea I am opinionated but I am also objective. There has been no point made of the lack of objectivity here. Some are very subjective and apply everything written to self when in fact it has nothing to do with them in the first place. Please start taking that into consideration. Take this little bit of trivia into thought. There were only three rules on the old stage coach lines in cowboy times. "Please refrain from smoking of cigars, no talking of religion and no talking of politics. Even back in these days they knew these subjects where volatile and would cause gun fights. Politics and Religion are emotional subjects and as you know there are only a few of us who even write about the subject. We are a passionate kind. So I Eggsovresy will quit smoking cigars! http://www.xomba.com/justifying_infedelity_is_not_good_character_democrats http://www.xomba.com/i_got_into_a_fist_fight_the_day_before_yesterday http://www.xomba.com/i_got_into_a_fist_fight_the_day_before_yesterday PS. I won't attack either.

Feedback!!!!

Wow, I wake up this morning and we have lots of feedback on this subject. We don't want to censure anybody. You have to come to the point where you just quit responding. You are NOT going to change people's minds. Make your point and then move on or if you can discuss the issue with a relatively low level of blood pressure then that is good as well. For those of you suggesting we curb posts on politics and religion I say no. Just don't read those posts. Everyone is the most powerful critic on the site. All you have to do is not read someone's work. Eggs making you mad? Jim making you mad? Just don't read their posts. Bingo... You win. Easy enough, because you are NOT going to change someone's opinion.
