Xomba Blog: Moving on Up
posted August 25, 2009 - 1:39pmHello everyone!
We, at Xomba, would first and foremost like to thank everyone for their great articles. We have enjoyed reading all of them!
If you have written an article in Microsoft Word and would like to post it onto your Xomba account there is a very simple way to go about it. In your rich text editor there is an icon that resembles a clipboard with the letter W in front of it. This W stands for word and once chosen it will prompt you to paste your content into the box that has been displayed. By pasting your content into this box, it will allow you to display the correct formatting for Xomba.
Have content from other documents you would like to paste? As long as it is in your own words, we have a very simple way to do this as well. Located on the rich text editor there is a clipboard with the letter T in front of it. This icon will allow you to paste any content that was originally created in any program, besides Word, to be displayed in the correct formatting for Xomba.
Xomba is preparing to launch two separate contests, both of which will be launching shortly after Labor Day. Be on the look out for both of these contests. We are very excited to launch them and hope that you will share our enthusiasm.
Calling all new users and users who want to learn more about our new site! Sometime in September, we will be conducting a workshop for all users who would like to ask the Xomba team any questions about the site. We will have 2 separate workshops, one in the morning and one in the evening (Eastern Standard Time). Keep on the looking for the specific date.
Just a reminder, Xomba still has a few feature writer positions open. If you consider yourself an expert in any category, glance on that category page and check to see if there is a box with a feature writer position open. If there is, feel free to Contact Us. We look forward to reading your entry.
Enjoy the rest of your week and as always, if you have any questions feel free to email us.

question about editing text of my introduction
i have been trying to edit the text of the introduction on my page, but when i click "save" nothing happens.
i need to delete the e-mail address that i listed there -- i did not know that it violated your posting rules when i posted it.
Reads vs impressions
I am new to Xomba, and so far I think it is pretty cool. I do have a question though. I like the reads feature, but it is also frustrating me. I see over 500 reads on my profile, and adsense says I have had 39 page impressions. Is this normal? It is driving me crazy worrying about if I'm doing something wrong or if I'm missing something so any advise or explaination would be greatly appreciated. Also, if there is a better place to ask these questions please point me in the right directions. Thanks

rich text?
so instead of wrtiing my stuff in ordinary word I start with word then save as rich text?
or is rich text something I am not seeing when I type on xomba?
How about if I write it in xomba, copy and check spelling in word then paste the corrected version back to xomba?

Featured Writer Request - where to send
I'm curious as to what Xomba department I should send a feature writer request? Do I use the standard comment-form or what?? The comment form has no subject line available and I'm wondering if my request might get lost in the volume of emails you receive?
I'm still rather lost here on the New Xomba, but, thank God for the search-box. It's becoming my AAA for Xomba... :-)
