Xomba Blog | Rules, Contests and Features

I hope everyone had a great weekend and enjoyed the Olympics as much as I did. Between Michael Phelps and Usain Bolt, we had lots of records broken and lots of fantastic athletes on display.

The first thing I want to do is clarify a few Xomba rules. We have a no tolerance policy on plagiarism here at Xomba which means that if you post something you did not write you will be blocked. It doesn't matter if you are linking to the article or not, you cannot copy other people's work. Secondly, we do not allow links to streaming sports games. We made an exception for Olympic events but that is over. We encourage you to write a preview of a game or a synopsis of a game instead. Thirdly, we do not allow links to pirated movies. These are usually handheld recordings of movies that are still in theaters. Links to official sites such as Hulu.com are perfectly acceptable. We encourage everyone to flag posts that violate any of the rules listed above to help keep the quality of content on Xomba at it's best.

Now, enough with the rules lets move on to our "Xomba Is Green With Envy" contest. We are thrilled to see so many great entries and just wanted to quickly remind everyone that you have until Sunday to submit your entries. Remember, all you have to do to enter is to write a Xombyte about which fictional character you would most like to be and include the tag "green xomba" so that we can identify it.

Lastly, three new features are on the front page today. Here are the links to the articles for easier access:

Just say no to pirated movies

The links to pirated movies comes from Google. We cannot make exceptions so there is no reason to argue. Personally, we don't like them. They don't make money. Bottom-line Google Adsense says no our hands are tied.
