Xomba Blog: TGIF
posted October 23, 2009 - 10:11amHello Everyone,
Thank Goodness it's Friday! Who doesn't love the weekend? It gives you more time to write for Xomba contests!
Xomba's Dream Job contest is getting closer and closer to the finish line. I can't believe it's almost November, but it is, which means our big contest is about to come to an end. November 9th is the last day to enter into this great contest so make sure to let us know what your Dream Job would be.
Guess what...Xomba just announced our new contest! Have you ever wanted to write your own book? Now is the time to tell us what the back cover of your book would look like. What would you want the world to know about you? We are so excited to learn a little bit more about each and every one of you, so please participate in this contest. Read our contest page for all of the details for this contest and all other running contests.
There was a Twitter contest yesterday, were you aware of it? If not, you should probably be following Xomba on Twitter and don't forget about Facebook, there are contests on Facebook too! Become a fan of Facebook and follow us on Twitter to make sure that you have the opportunity to win our next contest. You can also gain even more reads on your articles by tweeting your article's URL and placing them in your Facebook status!
Do you wish you could achieve more reads on your articles? Have you applied for a feature writer position yet? By becoming a feature writer you will not only be on the front page of your category, but every once in a while you will also be on the front of the home page. This is a great way to gain more readership and let more people in the Xomba community know you are out there. The following categories have at least one opening available. If you feel you have a good amount of knowledge in one of these categories...apply!

train accident in india
hi all,
i feel sorry for the two tragic rail accidents in India in last couples of days.
First was just a tragedy but the second one occured, was due to a faulty, slow, non-responding & a corrupt system. An old bridge needed to be reparied and serviced after being in use for so many years was well neglected. One day it lost all its control and fell over a local train moving below. In a developing nation like India these type of things should not happen.
Please pray for who paid for these mistakes and pray to avoid such bloody pages in our History.
hi its ok

You should apply on the category page for poetry.
As for the word limit, you should write a bio about yourself and include it before or after your poem to reach the word count.

A Question Please!
I would like to try for poetry if I would be allowed to post short ones. I have oodles of short poems, but not so many long ones that I could post. Very few are the required 150 words, though, so I suppose that would be a problem. Some sites don't have a limit on the length of poems. Could you all change the rules on poems?

To apply for a position you must go to that specific category page and then on the top of the page you will see a box that advices you to contact us.
You will know your category is available because there will be a picture of a shadowed Abmox instead of a users profile picture.
