Xomba Blog | The Monday Blues

Monday mornings, here at Xomba, usually begin with a trip to the cafe. A "little pick me up" to get us going for a new week. Usually, we have anywhere from 40-100 emails to go through from Saturday-Sunday. Most of which are spam or make no sense at all.

Our first blog seemed to be a good idea so we'll continue posting these every couple of days. We figure it is a good way to keep in touch with you about things that probably won't make it in the newsletter.

Lately, we've been hard at work with planning the re-design for Xomba. This marks our 3rd attempt at drafting a new look. It's a little to early to give you a preview, but I will say that we're moving to drop down menus instead of so many blocks and making the site much more simple. Just from the layout plans we've created, the site appears awesome. Feel free to drop comments on features you would like to see. Bringing reads back is part of the design and those related Xombytes.

If you haven't noticed we posted the contest winners on the front page. We're very happy with that contest so you can expect it to stay around a while.

Keep sending us names for our Xomba alien mascot. We'll be picking three names to vote on very soon.

In other news, you might be interested in what Google is doing to keep the Internet neutral. One of the main reasons is to "(2) allow consumers to utilize any lawful applications, content and devices without blocking, degrading or impairing Internet traffic". Telecommunication companies are trying to get congress to pass laws that allow them to have control over what you access on the net. Imagine Xomba having to pay ISPs a fee so the public could access our website faster than our competition. Pretty scary stuff...

Until next time,

Nick

Good Job on the Site

I'm looking forward to seeing the new design. A simpler look would be better than having all these blocks around.
