Xomba Bullies and Referral Issues

Xomba Bullies and Referral Issues

A few things have been brought to our attention during the Xomba Workshop last night.

1) No one has the authority to ban anyone on Xomba other than myself and Nick. If we find out that any user is threatening to get another user banned , the threatening user will be banned from Xomba.

If you think that someone is breaking the rules or doing something inappropriate, then flag the content or send a message to me. You can email me directly at baldwin at xomba.com

2) Some users are trying to get new users to re-sign up under their referral link with the promise of making more money. First let me make it clear that no one speaks for Xomba other than Nick or myself so if someone is promising money then that is their promise not ours. Secondly we are from here on out prohibiting the practice of resigning up users under a new referral link. If we find out that any user is trying to resign up an existing user they will no longer be able to refer any more users.

Other than these issues, the workshop went extremely well last night and we would like to thank everyone who participated.

Yes, I missed it too.

Could we have another workshop soon, please? Thanks

Workshop

I also missed he workshop. When will the next one occure? David Cowley has created numerous articles on different subject. He has also created a Web Site dedicated to each subject. http://www.treasure-hunting-team.com - http://www.rgvre-team.com - http://www.wine-team-usa.com - http://www.allergies-team.com - http://www.aging-team.com - http://www.bladder-team.com - http://www.heart-team.com - http://www.diamonds-team.com - http://www.dfcinvestment-team.com

Bullies

Good to know you are out there protecting us. I am new here and was unaware of this practice. Thanks for helping keep Xomba a great place!

Referrals

Maybe the Google system is a good way of handling referrals and deserves a look-in. If we have a similar system, i.e. a referral will be awarded to the the referree only when the referral has made X amount for himself or Xomba, the referree will then be motivated to go a step further and help out the referrals under him/her all the way. This way the new user will not be disappointed and also any new user who has tasted dollars on Xomba probably will then be stuck for a long'er' time.

What About Us?

As you mentioned there are 2 types of writers on Xomba. Those who want to write for the sake of writing and those who want to write for money. It's great that you've changed the Xombyte to make it so that those who want to write for the love of writing can do so without gettting mad at others who write shorter articles. But what about those who want to make money? We would like to write shorter articles. Articles that may or may not have links. Xomblurbs are only for the articles that have links. What about short articles that do not have links? How about creating a third category?

yeah

I think we'll get this redesign stuff done first. So about mid Feb. Probably during the day.

I wish I could have been at

I wish I could have been at the workshop. Planning another one?

Thanks for bringing this up.

You mentioned a lot of important issues, some which I have noticed, but hadn't realized that those people were breaking rules. I think you should post this in more than one place so that more people could see it. Also I love the new rule of having xombytes a minimum of 100 words. I always get carried away anyways with my writing and I can barely ever stop with 50 words :)

Good move

I'm glad to hear this... I think it'll encourage xombytes that are better quality. It's pretty easy to string together 25 or even 50 words quickly (without adding much value to the reader) to try to tie into a Google Trend, but writing 100 words takes more thought and effort, and probably this will mean people won't do a xombyte unless it's something they really want to do. If someone just wants to do a short, quick blurb to jump on a trend, there's always xomblurbs. --Idlewild (a Xomba addict, but not a "Xomba Pimp"!) P.S. Since this is a major change, it might deserve its own post... many people might not read a post on referrals.
