Welcome big daddy - that's really weird saying that. Anyhow - start by reading the getting starting and the FAQs in the left hand corner then the making money guide. Basically is works like this: You sign up for an adsense account. You put the adsense id number into your profile page. Now adsense will put ads on the pages you produce (don't ask how - it gets very indepth) based off of your title and keywords. If anyone clicks on these ads you make money - Xomba gets 1/2 and you get 1/2. Once your adsense acct gets over $100 they will pay you - simple as that. Now each ad pays differently (again reasons why are complicated) so you can make anywhere from a few cents to a few bucks per click. The more you post the more you can and probably will make - non-fiction, how-tos, research type stuff tend to make the most. Fiction and opinions pieces make the least. Look at the top performers (users by points) and you'll see what some of the more successful people here are doing. DeDom has stated that he has made as much as $1800 a month here and does that pretty consistently. I make between $2 and $10 a month because I mostly write fiction and don't link up my posts very often.
