In a little more than 3 years Xomba.com which, as all websites must, launched as PR0 website has recently become a PR5 website. Great! But, hang on a minute, just what is a PR5 website and, for that matter what is PR?

OK, Clever Clogs (you know who you are) so it means “in an estimate of a website’s importance according to Google's indexing algorithm, Xomba.com has reached 5 out of a possible 10, 0 being the lowest and 10 being the highest and PR stands for page rank” but that means nothing to some of us as we are not nerds.

• How Did Xomba reach PR5 status?

Google’s algorithm rewards sites and pages with a higher number for original content. Therefore, it seems, that we (the Xomba members) have helped Xomba reach its new heights and, judging by the original articles we submit – between us on a daily basis – we will eventually reach PR6, 7, 8, 9 and finally (unless Google adds 11, 12 and so on) we’ll reach PR10! So all we have to do is keep up the good work!

• Other Ways Xomba Members can help increase PR (according to independent research)

In addition to publishing new articles (Xombytes) and reviewed links (Xomblurbs) we can also include inside links to our other articles. For instance, here’s a link to Wobble Your Fat Away.

Of course, we didn’t do it all and credit where credit is due – without its creator – Xomba wouldn’t even be in the Abmox because the Abmox wouldn’t even exist.

• What Does Increased PR mean to Xomba Members?

It means, as long as our articles are original, that our articles will be given higher ranking in Google searches. This in turn means we’ll attract more readers and more readers means more likelihood they’ll be attracted to the contextual adverts and more advert attraction – in the form of click throughs – will mean more revenue for everyone – the Xomba owners and writer/publishers who are registered with Google AdSense.

In conclusion YIPPEE!
