Xomba Special Weather Alert #6
posted August 23, 2008 - 8:00amWelcome to Xomba's (non)Severe weather team's ongoing coverage of tropical storm(not quite a hurricane) Fay.
It appears we're in our 1,500th hour of our special alert coverage of Tropical Storm Fay. It's Friday morning around 11am EST
Finally, things picked up last night. Our trusty high-tech Xomba rain meter has reported 5 inches of rain since Wednesday around 3pm.
That's 3 inches of rain that fell last night for those of you keeping a storm journal.
Take a look at our current radar.
Yesterday, we were stuck in the eye, but today we're getting steady yellow bands.
The media is continuing to make this comparable to a Cat 5 hurricane, but really it's just a little wind and a lot of rain. Not a big deal.
There are some small trees down I can see from our apartment. It is raining to hard for me to go out and get pictures.
Everything around us is closed. Some bridges have opened back up, but people should really stay off the roads.
Hoping it will take a break so we can go for a walk, but it doesn't look like it till much later this afternoon.
This is probably the final update on the storm. I am out of funny and really it is just a rain storm now.
Stay dry!
