Xombalization Nation Text Message: Make Money Online using an Editor-'Quota' on Better-than-'Making Money' Blogs
Uncle MythMan says ...

On another walk-about, I was thinking, "Why don't I do Xomba like a job?" I mean, the one time I got paid, this is how I did it: whatever I write, I type first into a Word-document or Notepad-program (not the Xombyte-posting program); then I wait until the last Xombyte I posted is either 'last on the front-page list' or 'no longer on the front-page list,' when I copy/paste the text into a new Xombyte.

That's if I'm inspired to write more than
the bare-bones 'one-or-two posts' before
I spend the rest of the 'work-day' com-
menting!

I do the same thing with Xomblurbs (except that I usually just post a `blurb of a bunch of links others can post individual `blurbs about).

You might think, "If you're lookin` ta` make quota, why don't you just write 25 links and up to 25 Xombytes, post all those and call it a day?"

Three reasons: 1) I am not the owner of Xomba.com or the only writer here, and so I don't want to (even briefly) present it as such; 2) I do not want this work to fall into the same rut-mindset as "paperwork"; and 3) 90% of the quality-content on Xomba (as opposed to the FREE MOVIES ON XOMBA.COM content) is in the comments below the post—one ought to spend 90% of one's time commenting!

Maybe it's closer to 80/20 or 95/5, but the exact number is not the point! The point is that blogs (especially Xomba, but there are others!) are the hosts of democratic press of today ... conception-place of Web 2.0—the Virgin Mary of the Computer Age ... and we blog-workers need to give no other example but that of a high comment-to-blog ratio, in order to lead the great web-surfers to plug into the power-system!

@veghead--About the Same Way Lorne Michaels Makes Money on SNL

Well, it's actually 'about the same way *NBC* makes money by ~paying Lorne Michaels~'---Lorne Michaels gets paid, so he 'owes' some 'time doing what he does' for SNL (Saturday Night Live) Of course, by now (and maybe even back when he started), he had to do the work first AND THEN get paid. Same thing here, except we're not getting paid for 'the time we have spent.' We're getting paid a percentage of the money made because of us. Xomba isn't the end-all/be-all "thing we do" because we aren't paid for 'money we might direct to the Bosses,' we're paid for 'affirming that the Bosses legally own the money they got for links the connect here.' ---Uncle MythMan, who KNOWS you're as awesome as the 2009 Collection (in your special way), yet needs to hear *you*! @m.m--I Got the Tags from This Tool

https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal I wrote the article BEFORE I used the tool---it's the tool Google uses to pull up the keywords the advertisers buy from us. I ~did~ sorta aim for the most-clicked rather than most-relevant keywords (out of the ones it gave me when I pasted the whole article into the appropriate entry-space on the second tab there), but I did skip a lot of highly-clicked keywords that didn't work so well. (You recall that the main topic of the article was 'when to copy/paste articles into your Xombyte.' Maybe I implied something more-"community based" there, but that's not the way the owners' program reads it! ---Uncle MythMan, who KNOWS you're as awesome as the 2009 Collection (in your special way), yet needs to hear *you*! @scr--Indeed, I Was Gonna Say 'Compel' instead of 'Convince'

Because 'compel' is the action advertisers want from the writers they hire---they want potential buyers to be 'overwhelmed' by the attractive words written about their products ('If you got the mo-ney ho-ney, I got ... COMPEL!' LOL). I don't want to tell you what good commenting on my stuff does for you--there's kind of a 'you CAN be god'-ring to it--but I'll tell you what it does for me: it both validates me as a member of this group, and impels me to react in kind, ~Quid pro Quo~ ---Uncle MythMan, who KNOWS you're as awesome as the 2009 Collection (in your special way), yet needs to hear *you*! What was that?

You have a strange, but interesting, way of asking for comments. If it's a new technique, well... you could say it must have worked as I've just commented on it. Thanks, mythman, for another insightful post. + scruffy (dave) Join Xomba My Profile My Blog get some FREE traffic

you mean you can make money at xomba?

I have yet to break a $100 sweat and collect adsense bucks from my xombytes/xomburps (although I did score two amazon gift coupons, worth their weight in gold even at current prices, as far as I'm concerned). Yeah, I know, you have to write an awful lot of stuff (and mostly popular, audience-pandering stuff) to make even a pittance on any of the blogger/writers websites on the Net. And I just don't. For me, that would turn writing into just another nose-to-the-grindstone, impersonal, cynical, sisyphian (sp?) labor. But I suspect that most writers/bloggers, except for a fortunate few, can't actually quit their day jobs and hang their hats here 24/7. But as far as xomba goes, I agree, mythman, the real fun is in the comments, the more the merrier. That's mostly why I keep coming back.
