Hark! Spring Begins, Live webcam, the nearest other "place" is the Coldest Place on Earth
AMUNDSEN-SCOTT South Pole Station. Spring begins.
Vostok, the Coldest Place on Earth, is a few hundred miles north. From here, the horizon in every direction is north.
It will be a long while before it is completely dark, but in theory, it takes only about 32.5 hours for the Sun to set once its lower limb touches the horizon. The Sun sets on March 21 (this year) and the season of spring begins noving to the long night.
Certainly, the Sun moves north in the sky, and from the South Pole it is at first a bright glow moving around the horizon. Looking north, somewhere you will see the glow, like just after sunset, but it lasts for around 2 weeks. The end of Astronomical Twilight occurse when the Sun is finally 18 degrees below the horizon. The Moon will make appearances throughout the long night, full and as high in the sky as the Sun was during the the long day.
Note Temp and wind chill!

Creative Abilities of Tania Head Now Being Recognized. Could she BLOG it?
The story in the NY times about Tania Head is on Xomba's "Welcome to Xomba" page (momentarily) and is a facinating read. It seems to show or at least indicate remarkable creative abilities. If it is a complete and mostly fabricated fiction, it might a make a TV movie, and allow the poor author a chance to re-coup what is obviously a heartfelt and deeply embedded series of creative efforts. Other lessons are the be careful what you say, they can come back to you. It helps to have a credible non-fantasy base -- and in writing or acting, build from there!
Fame is fleeting, and hopefully Tania will come out of this and 'fess or explain her feelings WRT the tower collapses, people she saw there and her stories of events. No doubt she can and has been able to string poignant words together to convince quite a few people of what ever the truth really is.
Maybe she can blog here! And make some honest coin with a "Xomba Exclusive: Tania's Tales of Survival: The Truth"
Or maybe, "Tania's Truth: I learned from my experience."
Or "Tania Tells all. This is how it happened. Really."
Maybe one of the docu-fiction writers here could help her get started!
What a creative opportunity! I wish her well. Bush ought to give her a creative position to help flesh-out some of the earlier real problems with his personal history, You know, a homespun story of "Dave and George, and me. . ."
I hope she ends up okay out of this, anyway. She filled one void, in her and in some of us.
Put your talent to use! Welcome to Xomba!

Mitch McConnel is GOP Champion Fundraiser. Is he better than Tom DeLay? (Was?)
Light the link below and read the take on Senate Minority Leader from Kentucky. Do you think his is as good as the old DeLay guy? At the money-raising thing?

McCONNELL, Addison Mitchell (Mitch), a Senator from Kentucky; born in Tuscumbia, Colbert County, Ala., February 20, 1942; attended Louisville, Ky. public schools; graduated, University of Louisville 1964; graduated, University of Kentucky Law School, Lexington 1967; admitted to the Kentucky bar in 1967; legislative assistant to Senator Marlow Cook 1968-1970; deputy assistant United States Attorney 1974-1975; elected judge-executive of Jefferson County, Ky., 1978-1985; elected as a Republican to the United States Senate in 1984; reelected in 1990, 1996 and 2002 for the term ending January 3, 2009; Republican party whip (2003-2007); minority leader (2007-); chair, Select Committee on Ethics (One Hundred Fourth Congress), National Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee (One Hundred Fifth through One Hundred Sixth Congresses), Rules and Administration (One Hundred Sixth Congress, One Hundred Seventh Congress [January 20, 2001-June 6, 2001]).
Mitt and Rudy attempt to outline their job efforts for illegal aliens, and those hiring them.
Rudy knocked Mitt's position. And soon, Mitt fired the landscape company he had given a second chance for hiring illegal aliens and who had employed these illegal immigrants as part of the crew working on his personal property in Massachusetts.
Now, this Republican mess may fester. The Republican Administration, and the Republican Congress (until the last election) welcomed illegal aliens -- because contributors wanted to make a lot of money on the backs of the illegal aliens. So what is really an easy problem to solve -- simply enforce the existing laws -- builds into an issue most legal, and recent legal immigrant Americans are starting to steam about.
Think of the money! The (AP) article is enlightening.

Mitt Romney fires illegal-alien- hiring-landscape contractor, after giving second chance.
It is not easy to see if the contractor was a Romney contributor -- but the writing is on the wall. Illegal aliens should not expect to be hired by Mitt Romney associated efforts. So notice is now given. No one really gets into the enforcement of existing law -- And Rudy pretends purity WRT it while mayor of NYC -- from which he was booted if you recall. Huckabee is still squirming around some kind of message. Democrats are relatively silent.
This (AP) article is worth reading. Is this ironic humor? What is the Carbon Footprint?

Adsense retires Onsite Advertiser Sign-up: Poor Performance.
Google Adsense retires Onsite Sign-up. Its sun is setting.
If you had links to the Onsite Advertiser Sign-up page , they will very very soon re-direct to the main AdWords sign-up page.
Read about it Ben Ewing's blog. The new thing is "placement targeting":

New Tech craft approaches stealth, fast as a helicopter, one leg in the water.
New Tech Craft. As fast as a helicopter--with one leg in the water.
Yes, this has military applications. I would classify it as a "surface effect" device. The possible economies are obvious.
.This craft has considerable potential, and could carry military hardware and fade into the "surface" clutter on radar return. Right now the craft is powered with off the shelf tech, but some specialized power plants adapted to the unique near stealth capabilities could turn this craft into a full stealth watercraft. Imagine, were it nearly soundless.
Visit the below site and watch some video's.

Mexico easier to invade and control than Iraq. Citgo- should Go, as must oil.
Hugo, Citgo, Mexico, Oil go.
Forty years ago it was the Rockerfellas that controlled Venezualan Oil. They built most of the foundation for the eventual "transition," but it is still a "Patron" kinda place. Will Obama make friends with Hugo whose Citgo should G0?
Why is it not a topic?
'Spose it's the Oil? And these OPEC-ers just want to milk the USA. I know George is. Iraq has oil and so does Iran. But Mexico has enough for us to make the transition to "no oil."
We have tipped it, George and friends have instigated it and banking has financed it. We really need to get off this track.
Hugo has invited us. Destroying the Dollar!! Bush and Speclers (Speculators) gamblers have helped do that.

Huge Moby Orca Seen. Getting Ready to Claim the Ice-Free Summer Arctic Ocean.
Melville would be thrilled, a large White Killer Whale!

See the Rare White Killer Whale Spotted in Alaskan Waters From NOAA Ship Oscar Dyson
Look and link below to see the images on NOAA's website, and ENLARGE them! This is a Big Orca. The myth says he or others have been spotted before in the Aleutians.
Is there more than one Moby Orca? Brothers and Sisters? NOAA Research Biologist, Holly Fearnbach, National Marine Mammal Laboratory, Seattle, Washington, concludes Moby Orca is not a true Albino Orca. If you examine the images closely Moby has some patches of orca black.

Real Money? Bottom feeders, Minnows, Scavengers,Hunter/Affiliate,Pack Hunters,Whales!
Greg in Maine has a very educational posting and video on his site at Hubpages.com.
At his site he discusses making money on the Internet via a series of mechanisms.
He describes the money hunger, the money hungry and the food chain, and illustrates all this with some clips from Christine's pages (I think that maybe that is Christine in the picture with Greg!) where she is earning 1700/day, nearly 50K per month. . .
He uses endearing terms!
Bottom Feeders
Most of us, scroungers in the mud grubbing for pennies per click read
minnows
mom & pop business websites. They use Google Adsense to get traffic to sell things, kind of like having a site linked to Ebay.
Scavengers
Google and other search engines and Adsense
Content network or context network.
These folks make a lot of money and work at it with all kind of algorithms.
Hunter/affiliates and packs of hunters
These guys provide a link between the customer and the vendor.
They include:
Primary Ads
Commission Junction
CPA Empire
Azoogle Ads
Whales
These are the big companies. They have all the headaches! They have inventory.
They use all the tools above and they sometimes hunt traffic and customers themselves, but they will use Google, Packs of hunters, and any device to get customers. Ford and GM are whales -- but have not figured out how best to use the Internet. This remains a challenge.
