methadone is a drug used in treating heroin addiction, but
it can be a deadly dose when taken in combination alcohol and other drugs.

There is a major surge in the methadone links deaths shooting up from 786 in 1999 to 3849 in 2004.

The National Drug Intelligence Center said it published the report out of concern towards the increasing methadone abuse. It is safe to use the drug methadone only under the monitoring of a physician.
