Here's my 2 cents worth on the current compare and contrast
discussion regarding the two record breaking Team USA Olympic swimmers from different eras:

They are both obviously absolute freaks of nature to be able to dominate in every event. Out of the pool, Phelps reputation is a lot better than the young Mark Spitz enjoyed.
