I was born in 1971 in Milwaukee Wisconsin. I know many of you are saying "Where?"
I lived there for much of my life but the world was calling to me and I began to travel around the age of 18.
First I left the state to live in several other states including Arizona, Florida, California and Virginia.

Planetary Collision Course

This week in Prague (about 140 Km north of me) there is a large collection of astronomical luminaries. No it's not an alien invasion. It's the annual International Astronomical Union meeting.

The big, hot item on the agenda, isn't so big or so hot.

Birthday Pain

The nightclub, that bastion of ego-maniacal excess. The forward guard of the self-indulgent and self-involved. The last place I thought I would find myself on my thirty-fourth birthday, yet there I was. How I get dragged into these things I'll never, no that's not right. I didn't get dragged, I invited this living hell unto myself. I thought I had been lucky lately and that going out to a club might continue my streak of luck. Nothing ever hurts so much as falling from so high. The tide of luck had run out, or rather stopped at the door and waited for me to return from the nether regions of this orgy of the self.

Where in the world am I?

A long time ago, well April or May of 2004 anyway, I decided to leave my life in America and live abroad.

For the previous 9 years I had been doing IT work and I had come to the conclusion that I hated it. It was the same thing everyday and was extremely boring. I always thought that since I had such a great talent for computers I would be able to turn it into a career.

You're going where?

When I first uttered the words "I'm moving to Prague" to several family members I received a list of responses that truly showed their ignorance.

One aunt stated, "That's in Russia right?"

"No the Czech Republic," I said.

Baby Steps to Restoring Civil LIberties

One small step for...oh you get the picture.

U.S. District Judge Anna Diggs Taylor in Detroit became the first judge to strike down the National Security Agency's program, which she says violates the rights to free speech and privacy, as well as the separation of powers enshrined in the Constitution.

Stumbleupon.com: What's this all about?

2
points

So someone gave me a tip about StumbleUpon as a possible way to promote some writing. When I arrived at the site I found to my dismay that it's a browser toolbar. I don't generally like toolbars because they clutter up my web space. I like to keep it to only 2 lines and the fantastic Bookmark toolbar in Mozilla will never be removed from my basic configuration so I don't have any room for another toolbar.

Something fun to do for no reason (web based 'game')

So I have too much free time apparently because I went here and played the Google map based flight sim for an hour.

When I was bored with Earth I jumped over to the Moon and then to Mars.
