We are Fighting a War but the Prisoners We Take are Not Prisoners of War?

Judicial branch? What judicial branch?

This vernacular frustrates in the extreme. "The procedures must be fair," Gonzalez said to the Senators, "but also must reflect that we are still at war and that our men and women on the front lines operate in a war zone, not in the controlled environment of an F.B.I. forensics lab."

Flag Burning Should Forever Be Legal

Imagine this scenario: you are watching the news and they go to a protest rally in China. Students are protesting for women's rights and start burning the flag. Immediatly armed military men come into the scene and grab the protestors. The reporter then says that this was done because such protest is illegal in China. What would you think of that? Nothing good, right?

Retrospective: The Minimum Wage Issue Forever Illustrates How Out of Touch These Politicians Were

The year right now is 2006. Raise you hand if you would work for 5.15. Nobody? Wrong crowd. But there are those who would, trust me. They just don't read too much, which I don't mind (don't get me wrong there are plenty who can). Try to imagine living off of that, being a homeless person having to rely on that 5.15 to get back on track.... Not pretty, is it? Politicians. The word is like the vilest epitaph. That they let it get this far is insanity. That they have voted down bills due soley to partisanship is blasphemous. They have managed through this stunning failure in their social responsibility to indict the whole status quo in my opinion, most notably the partisanship they all seem to thrive on....

Leaving Iraq Early Would be a Grave Error

Had no one checked the stats on this one? Had they voted to go to war and ultimately take over a county they knew nothing about?

Democracy.... Did they think it was going to be easy to install in Iraq?

"The Mistake of the Democrats is in Not Admitting they Made a Mistake"

The Democrats are against the War in Iraq? Since when?

We all remember the Lieberman attack, which was fair... but this party aspires to an identity it can never claim. You cannot take back those votes. You had a chance and plenty of time to debate and you leafrogged that and anything resembling political sanity because you simply trusted a Republican President so much that you had to give him the ability to overcome checks and balances on this one?

Hate Them Both

"I do not want to speak ill of a veteran. I respect what you did. But when you critize the man who saved you, it comes down to this: This man's a war hero, what did you do over there? Zero... You almost got shot, you are not a hero in this war shit, not even a hero to the party that fed you this horseshit, twisted and polluted your values, don't you remember when those soldiers almost had you? Lucky to be alive, talking about family values? There have got to be some things in life that push politics aside, you're the type to make one wonder "Why'd I save his life?" Never knew many vets that still love those that worked and didn't pay them-but they'll use you if they can, "If's he in our hand, let's play him." I'm sorry you went to war, more sorry you almost died. But I have to wonder if you were thinking about protocol when he saved your hide? That's the type of thing you think up after the brain wash. Another boy that went to war and stayed lost. I mean, if there was ever a man I would go out of my way to never criticize.... who better than the man that saved my worthless life?"
