As romantic and manly as the gangster ideals are, writer Shoko Tendo gives a first-person account which may sink some of these notions in her newly translated book, Yakuza Moon: Memoirs of a Gangster's Daughter. This is a first-person, nonfiction account of a young girl living in the shadow, and then in the wreckage, of her father's gangster lifestyle.
