Yodrok Salakjai, Beloved Thai Country Music Singer, Dies of Cancer

This morning at 1:15 AM Bangkok time, Yodrok Salakjai, a beloved Thai country singer and entertainer, passed away at Bangkok's Praram 9 Hospital from advanced stages of liver cancer. He was 52.

Yodrok was diagnosed with liver cancer several months ago, but the disease was not detected before it had spread throughout his body. His body rejected attempts at chemotherapy.

Yodrok was well known celebrity in Thailand and was loved by many fans. A Thai country music superstar, he had a long list of hit songs.

Family and friends were by his side at the hospital as doctors announced yesterday evening that he would not make it through the night.
