Youths Work For Cleaner Air in Their West Oakland Neighborhood

In what started as a class project, became a campaign to clean up their neighborhood in West Oakland, California. The students tested the air and found high amounts of heavy metals including lead and nickel. Armed with their findings and help from environmental organizations they undertook a campaign to improve the air quality in their neighborhood.
