YouTube Soon to Offer Revenue Sharing for Video Content Owners

Talk has been going on for awhile on the idea of YouTube (GOOG) taking steps toward sharing revenue with owners of video content uploaded to the site. It looks like that may shortly become a reality.

Video Advertising

I have some friends hosting Google Videos on their site through Adsense. They are getting horrible CPM. They switched back to text link adsense. The problem is that the ads are NOT targeted. Without targeted ads people will not click. Google needs to find a way to host targeted ads through the videos. For now I would HIGHLY suggest embeding your video (or any video) to a Xomblurb with a short paragraph explaining the video. Then you get TARGETED ADS and you can show people videos right on your Xomblurbs. I have friends doing it on here and they make some money. It takes about 5 minutes to create a Xomblurb with a video and if you make 10 bucks off of it I would say that's a good deal. Plus sharing videos is lots of fun. Youtube's revenue sharing video idea will FAIL if the ads are not targeted!
