Zicam: Cure for the Common Cold
posted October 30, 2006 - 7:34pmFor a week and a half now, my boyfriend has been sick. It isn't anything serious. He wakes up sniffling and blows his nose vehemently. He then proceeds to continue to cough, which was only interrupted by two or three hours of restless sleep. He takes the alcoholic wonderdrug green goo, but it hardly knocks him out. His cough, at this point, makes me want to cry.
Despite receiving his icky germs in my face all night as he coughs, and being around him every night, I have hardly suffered traces of a cold. Don't get me wrong: on Saturday, I got that incredible fatigue that hits you in your bones and warns, REST UP, OR YOU'RE DONE! But I didn't rest up. I haven't rested up since this whole cold thing started going around. Why haven't I gotten sick? How am I still attending work without my pay being docked?
Zicam.
I started out by taking the medicated spoons, which are god-awful and make me want to die, but the transluscent goo goes down really quick. Then, when I ran out, I found the newest addition to the Zicam line: quick dissolving tablets. Oh they taste like zinc and the vague cherry flavor only lasts for a few moments, and yes, the chalky texture lingers for the full 15 minutes until you can drink and eat again. But the benefits! I am not sick!!!
Last time this happened, I woke up in the morning with the post-nasal drip, a clogged nose, and a very unhappy demeanor. I took Zicam all day, and the next day I was all better. All better I say!
It looks to me like Zicam is the cure for the common cold.
