Zombies, The LIVING Dead
posted April 6, 2008 - 7:22amI am here to address yet another misunderstood victim of horror movie mania: the zombie. Mostly misunderstood for their insatiable hunger for human flesh, zombies have been portrayed as the foulest of supernatural beings. Once again, as with Freddy, I feel it is my duty to bring to light the ... lighter side of zombies.
I don't see how anyone could be afraid of zombies, especially since the messiah of Christianity himself came back from the dead. Given, he was the son of God and probably didn't have leprous sores, but the thought is there. The simple fact is that the Divine Zombie Jesus didn't strike fear into the hearts of millions, and neither should the helpless beings in Resident Evil.
Zombies are a VERY cultured people. They enjoy dancing.

Case in point, you have to look at things from the zombie point of view. Cannibalism isn't a very civilized way to go, but it is still practiced in tribes of today by people who could find other means of food. Zombies have no choice but to eat people. Otherwise, they face second death. I ask you, my friend, what you would do if the only means to survive would be to eat other humans?
Surely something as basic as self-preservation should not be challenged, even if the methods are a bit primitive. I hope that perhaps I have instilled a bit of food for thought within some of you, perhaps enough to keep you from loading up that shotgun and blasting rotted cerebellum out of the back of an innocent soul's skull. Zombies are often pegged "the living dead". The purpose of this article is to put emphasis on the "LIVING" in that phrase.
I believe I posted my entry about Freddy Krueger roughly around this same time yesterday. I believe I see a pattern forming. Tomorrow's topic? Michael Meyers!
