Zzzzzzzz -- It's National Napping Day!
posted March 9, 2009 - 12:52pmI was going to post an entire xombyte with nothing but "zzzzzz", but I reasoned it might get flagged with good reason. Still, it could have been amusing.
The idea of National Napping Day came from Boston University professor William Anthony back in 1999, who understood the health benefits of allocating a little siesta time during our busy days. He's even written a book on the subject, The Art of Napping. If I ever find myself struggling with the concept of "napping", I might just have to give it a read.
After losing that hour of sleep over the weekend, such a holiday seems all the more appropriate. It ordinarily takes me about 7 months to adapt to the time change; by then, it's time to set the clocks back, again.
Napping.com is a Mr. Anthony's website dedicated the subject of periodic short sessions of blissful unconsciousness. Oddly enough, it appears to be down, currently --or maybe it's not really odd, at all. Perhaps it's only napping.
To all the inadequately rested among us -- a substantial figure in these modern times -- Happy Napping Day! Now, go saw some wood.
