I think KFC is trying to compete with Burger King for the most absurd new product.  Remember the Burger King Cologne of a few months back? Well, KFC has decided to create a sandwich without all those nasty carbs.  What are they using instead of bread? Meat.

The Doubledown Chicken Sandwich appears to be just two deep fried chicken slabs, with some cheese and other stuff in between.  

This could all be an elaborate gag, as the author of this piece suggests.  Well see, I guess.
