Mistress Wanted

Mistress Wanted

Here in Bangkok, we have a local English language expat rag called the Bangkok Trader. A free monthly publication that features advertisements, articles and classifieds for the area. Not a bad publication with lots of information about what's going on in town and elsewhere in Thailand. I pick one up each month at the local Villa Market.

When I brought this month's issue home, it sat on the coffee table for a while. I hadn't gotten around to thumbing through it yet. My wife sat down next to me with a glass of Thai Tea, picked up the Trader and started to look through it as she sipped her sweet, iced tea. I soon heard a gasp! "Easy job! Mianoy!" ... "This is NOT Good!" "I can't believe this!" "Will they print anything in here?!"

This month there was a large (almost half-page), pink ad in the classifieds section which was written in Thai. (shown below with translation). It seems this 45-year old, American businessman is looking for a 'mianoi' or a mistress and is willing to pay a decent wage! The ad is quite detailed and even spells out the conditions if the 'lucky lady' were to bear him a child or two or three...(It's a volume based compensation program with attractive bonuses!)

Take a look at the ad and read the translation below. I'm not even sure if this is even legal, but it sure is interesting!

My wife was wondering why he used the term 'mianoy' (mistress) if the guy is single. She theorized that perhaps he was gay and just wanted to have children before he got too much older, otherwise why not get married? I agreed that could be the case. I mean, I have seen Prenuptial Agreements that were less detailed than the payment schedule proposed in this ad!

Here is the translation (paraphrased) of the 'Mistress Wanted' ad and an actual image of the ad.

one night in bangkok

ah! serves me right for not reading more closely! Single, so technically this isn't for a mia-noi but for a live-in breeder. Have you sent an email? lmao. Could be a dating agency advert. I've been away for 3 days up into Isaan country so would have missed it had it not got such a loud round of applause :-) Yeah, when I was up in Chiang Mai many of the ladies with daytime jobs weren't about to swoon at some fat balding sunburnt falang with a wallet bigger than his brain. Reminds me of the musical Chess and One Night in Bangkok - hard to concentrate on your king with so many queens around. That didn't come out quite right but never mind - 'mai pen rai'. Mistress

I figured you'd get a kick out of this post, Rycharde! The ad says he is single..why the use of 'mianoi' and the details of the arrangement were called into question. (I also wondered about his use of 'Professional' in the job description...I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he meant someone with a career.) He's looking for a rarity indeed! Not so much a lovely woman with a degree, a career and no children, there are plenty of them here, but one with those qualifications that is willing to sell herself may be harder to find. More and more these days, I'm happy to say, Thai women are realizing their self-worth. With that being said, I'm sure he'll get plenty of responses. There are still plenty of lovely, ladies with bleak futures to choose from, but not so many that have the qualifications laid out in the ad. Great post, and what a

Great post, and what a fantastic job! So the guy's married, right?! I'll spread this around my town! Mind you, with a degree and no children he's looking at a rarity, not just a mia noi. What about a 'pua noi' advert?!! There isn't a good English translation for a male mistress! Toy-boy is close but assumes the guy is young. Paramour is correct but rarely used. I met a lady who wanted to add me to her collection, which amused me no end! :-) Join Xomba Here

A 'decent' wage

It's a decent wage for this part of the world and remember an apartment is provided..plus look at the bonus schedule! There was no mention of medical/dental or a retirement plan. I'm sure these things as well as a 'company' car and mileage, clothing allowance, etc. could be negotiated...lol

Well, paraphrased! and on Aa2's e-mail

Very nice alert report.+1 I suppose it would be allowed if it were something like wealthy dot american dot guy at location thailand dot network. This is too "good" to be spammed, though it probably would be if it were easy to link. Sure it looks legal to me. Anna Nicole Smith, poor girl, on the other hand married for love. She did very well, for as long as she did. And perhaps the child will end up with the money yet and a decent life. it can happen. My Q to SEO is that seems a little lite for a job of that nature. Is the price/pay right? Adequate?

Plenty of Mistresses Available...
