“Oops! Something went wrong. There was a problem logging into Tinder. Please try again(40303)”
Isn’t that what’s written on your screen? Yeah, you are banned.
At first, when I started using social media I used to believe that nothing hurts more than being blocked. Well, I was wrong. Getting Banned cuts deeper. It hurts more!
And just like you, I discovered this feeling recently. Cause apparently, the error code 40303 means that you have been banned by Tinder. Why?
Because “we’ve detected activity associated with your account that violated our Terms of Use or Community Guidelines. We take violations of our policies very seriously” says Tinder.
And no, they don’t feel like informing you. Why would they, after all, you violated their policies or did you? Let’s find out. In this article, I will tell What the error 40303 is?, What got you banned from Tinder? and How to get back on Tinder?
What is Error 40303 in Tinder?
An error code tells you about the reason behind an error. So, whenever you get banned from any platform like Tinder, you get an error code while signing in. This error code explains the reason why you were banned.
The error code 40303 on Tinder packs quite a punch. It is actually the worst kind of reason for which you want to be banned. Normally, you are banned for stupid reasons or doing something illegal, sharing financial information, impersonation, etc. However, the error 40303 states that you have been banned due to getting reported by other users.
Expected a punch and got a kicked in the gut, right? I know the feeling mate!
What’s worse is the way you are treated after being banned. Because, once you have been banned from Tinder, you won’t be able to sign in, you won’t get any notification and Tinder doesn’t have a formal appeals process so bye-bye!
Well, if this was harsh, Tinder’s explanation is worse.
So what’s the solution?
How to get Unbanned from Tinder?
By now, you must have figured out that, once you are banned, Tinder doesn’t have any intentions to welcome you back. But still, they give you a chance. The problem is that it’s a long process and nothing guarantees that whether it will work or not.
The only way to get back on Tinder is by asking them to reinstate your account. But that depends on two things. Are you a paying member? and How well you performed on Tinder?
If you were someone who violated most of the tinder policies, shared sexual content, talked dirty with people, got spammed and reported over and over again, then forget about getting unbanned. You only have a slight chance, if you own a membership.
However, there is a chance that none of this is true and you still got banned. After all, you don’t necessarily need to follow someone to report them. In such a scenario, you can reach out to Tinder and ask them politely to reinstate your account.
Here is how-
- First, visit Tinder’s support by clicking here.
- Now, under “What can we help with?“, select “Trouble with account Login“.
- Wait for a while and a new section will appear. Here select on “Can’t login, my account was banned“.
- Then, enter your email address, phone number, description of the problem and an attachment. You can share a screenshot of the error as an attachment.
- Finally, enter the captcha and click on Submit, to submit your request.
Do keep in mind that it usually takes at least 24 hrs before Tinder gets back to you. Also, it might take a few days to get your account back online so be patient. Even though, it is still not guaranteed that your account will be restored.
What are the alternatives for error 40303?
Let’s access the situation here. Is there is a fix for error 40303? The answer is no. Will the above method fix the problem? Maybe. To be honest, there is nothing much for an alternative here.
The only thing that I would suggest is to make an alternate Id. You might have to face a problem with apple ID if you used it to buy a subscription. Otherwise, it is the ideal solution. Yes, there would be drawbacks like no subscription, you will have to make your ID again from scratch, your contacts would be lost, etc. But hey, you can continue the search for your life partner.
And let’s not forget that you were reported which means your social image was not so great either. So it is better to start over.
The Bottom Line
Getting banned is not a great feeling. And six times out of ten, you would get banned for stupid reasons. But you can’t change the damage which has been done already. In such scenarios, it is better to step back and consider different options.
With the help of this post, I have shared some of those options. Now, I don’t guarantee that they will work but it’s better than giving up and not try. That being said, all you can do now is to ensure that no such thing happens again. Try to avoid misleading people and follow the rules.
