Sahebzade Irrfan Ali Khan (born 7 January 1967), credited as Irrfan Khan or simply Irrfan, is an Indian film actor known for his work mostly in Bollywood. Khan was born in Jaipur, to a Muslim family. He is also known for his works in British Indian films, Hollywood ventures, and Telugu films. Irrfan gained the reputation of a skilled actor from his roles in Bollywood movies such as The Warrior, Maqbool, Haasil, Paan Singh Tomar, Gunday, Rog, and so on. He also hosted the TV show Mano Ya Na Mano and appeared in popular Vodafone commercials. Irrfan Khan movies give blockbuster performances all the time. Khan’s English-language mainstream work includes character roles in movies like The Namesake, New York, Slumdog Millionaire, The Darjeeling Limited, A Mighty Heart, Life of Pi, and so on.

Khan has won three Filmfare Awards, a Screen Actors Guild Award, and an Independent Spirit Award Nomination. He is also the recipient of the 2011 Padma Shri award, the fourth highest civilian award in India. It is very difficult to choose ten of his finest films but nevertheless. Best Irrfan Khan Movies

1. The LunchBox (2013)

LunchBox is one of the superb Irrfan Khan movies. It is an Indian epistolary romantic film written and directed by Ritesh Batra and produced by Guneet Monga, Arun Rangachari, Anurag Kashyap. It was released on 19 May 2013 starring Irrfan Khan, Nimrat Kaur, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The film was jointly produced by various studios including DAR Motion Pictures, UTV Motion Productions, Sikhya Entertainment, NFDC (India), ROH Films, ASAP Films (France), and the Cine Mosaic (United States). The film was screened at International Critics’ Week at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival and later won the Critics Week Viewers’ Choice Award, also known as the Grand Rail d’Or. It was shown at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival. The film was a box-office success.

2. Paan Singh Tomar (2012)

Paan Singh Tomar is a movie based on the true story of the athlete Paan Singh Tomar. A soldier in the Indian Army, he wins a gold medal at the Indian National Games but is forced to become a notorious dacoit due to some circumstances. The film was released on 2 March 2012 starring Irrfan, Mahi Gill, and Vipin Sharma. The movie is directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia and produced by Ronnie Screwvala. It is also one of Irrfan Khan’s best movies and is acclaimed as a super hit at the box office. The film won Best Feature Film and Best Actor at the 60th National Film Awards in 2012. Paan Singh Tomar is really a good movie to watch. This movie achieved critical acclaim among Indian critics.

3. Talvar (2015)

Talvar (English title: Guilty) is a Bollywood drama movie written by Vishal Bhardwaj, directed by Meghna Gulzar, and produced by Vishal Bhardwaj and Vineet Jain. The movie was released on 2 October 2015 starring Irrfan Khan, Tabu, and Konkana Sen Sharma in the lead role. The movie is based on the 2008 Noida double murder case, in which a teenage girl and her family servant were found murdered, and her parents were convicted for the murders. The movie received 8.6 ratings by IMDb. The story and the performance of Irrfan Khan were really appreciated by the audience as well as by critics.

The trailer intrigued me to study Aayushi Talwar’s case and how media and public opinion influenced the decision-making is SHOCKING. We as a society are very judgemental and to fight this we have a long way to go. I feel this is an issue that we need to talk about! 4. Maqbool (2004)

Maqbool is an Indian crime drama film directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and produced by Bobby Bedi. It was released on 30 January 2004 starring Irrfan Khan, Tabu, Pankaj Kapoor, Om Puri, and Naseeruddin Shah. It was a brilliant adaptation of Shakespeare’s Macbeth, with Mumbai’s underworld as its backdrop. Maqbool is the right-hand man of Jahangir Khan, a powerful underworld Don. Pankaj Kapoor was awarded the National Film Award for best supporting actor for his portrayal of a robust Don. The movie gains pace with two corrupt policemen predicting that Maqbool will soon take over the reins of Mumbai’s Underworld from Abba Ji. This film receives positive reviews from critics. The film did not perform remarkably at the box office but won director Visual Bhardwaj international acclaim.

5. Life in a…Metro (2007)

Life in a…Metro is an Indian drama film directed by Anurag Basu, set in Mumbai featuring an ensemble cast of Dharmendra, Nafisa Ali, Shilpa Shetty, Irrfan Khan, Shiney Ahuja, Kay Kay Menon, Kangna Ranaut, Sharman Joshi, and Konkona Sen Sharma. The film was released on 11 May 2007. The film narrates the individual lives of nine people living in Mumbai and deals with topics like Extramarital affairs, the sanctity of marriage, and love. The film was critically acclaimed for its story and screenplay. The film’s general plot and a number of characters are based on two classic films, The Apartment, and Brief Encounter. The music is composed by Pritam with lyrics by Sayeed Quadri.

6. Yeh Saali Zindagi (2011)

Yeh Saali Zindagi is a Hindi Romantic thriller directed by Sudhir Mishra and produced by Prakash Jha and starring Irrfan Khan, Arunoday Singh, Chitrangada Singh, Aditi Rao Hydari. The film was released on February 4, 2011, to positive critical acclaim and was moderately successful at the box office. Arun is a Chartered Accountant who works for Mr. Mehta and helps him run his illegal business. Arun is in love with Priti, but she falls for Shyam who was introduced to her by Arun. This movie is all about two gangsters who commit a blunder and get their love entangled with their criminal deeds. It is one of the romantic Irrfan Khan movies and a good movie to WATCH.

7. Haasil (2003)

Haasil is a film directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia and produced by karma Network Productions. It was released on 16 May 2003 starring Jimmy Shergil, Irrfan Khan, Ashutosh Rana, and Hrishita Bhatt. Irrfan Khan won the Filmfare award for Best actor in a Negative Role for his portrayal of Ranvijay Singh in the movie. The film is set and shot in and around Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh.When college student Anirudh meets pretty co-ed Niharika, they quickly become romantically involved.Unfortunately, their relationship can’t escape the politics involved in sex and gang life. when Aniruddha meets Ranvijay, a big man on campus prone to toting guns, he believes he is merely helping his fellow students escape from a rival gang. It’s not long into their friendship, however, that Aniruddha realizes Ranvijay is just using him as a means to get to Niharika.

8. D-Day (2013)

D-Day is an Indian action spy thriller film co-produced by DAR Motion Pictures and Emmay Entertainment Private Limited. The movie was released on 19 July 2013 directed by Nikhil Advani and stars Arjun Rampal, Irrfan Khan, Shruti Hassan, Huma Qureshi, Aakash Dahiya Sandeep Kulkarni. This is also from the topmost Irrfan Khan movies. In this film, a team goes to Karachi, to bring back the most wanted man in India. Agent Wali Khan, appointed by the chief Indian intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing, Ashwini Rao, has been on a mission for nine years to keep an eye out for the activities of India’s most wanted D-Company leader, Goldman.

9. Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster Returns (2013)

Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Returns is a Bollywood romantic thriller drama directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia. It is the sequel to the 2011 film, Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster. It was released on 8 March 2013 starring Jimmy Shergill, Mahi Gill, Irrfan Khan, Soha Ali Khan.Jimmy Shergill won Best Actor Award for this film at 11th Norway Bollywood Film Festival in Oslo. The Royal Scandal, the war for power, and the fight for money continue with the return of Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster. Aditya Pratap Singh is crippled and is trying to recover from the physical disability and his wife’s betrayal. Love cum seductress Madhavi Devi is now an MLA, and her relationship with Aditya may have broken into shambles, but her relationship with alcohol is deep, dark and daunting. It is also one of the foremost Irrfan Khan movies and his performance was appreciated by the audience.

10. Jazbaa (2015)

Jazbaa (translation: Passion) is an action-drama movie directed by Sanjay Gupta and produced by Zee Studios & Viiking Media and Entertainment. The movie was released on 9 October 2015 starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Irrfan Khan in the lead role. It is a remake of the 2007 South Korean movie Seven Days. The movie generally received favorable reviews from critics as well as from the public. Irrfan Khan is nailing both movies, Talvar and now this. A captivating thriller with a powerful finale. Slick, fast, and stylish, the movie’s high point is its taut screenplay. The dialogue delivered by Irrfan Khan was really awesome. Aishwarya has made a stunning impact and is the finest work so far.
